I have travelled all the major destinations in Rajasthan and can safely say that even though I'm and Indian , I was blown away by the variety. One place they missed here was Ranakpur , probably my favourite place in all of Rajasthan. That fort which was shown (Kumbhalgarh) can be visited for a light and sound from Ranakpur (like we did) and the road is crazy. It is narrow and through a forested area with crocodile infested lake on the right and short cliff on the left. I absolutely loved it. Ranakpur and Jaisalmer are must for anyone visiting , the jain temples there are exquisite as well (and quite at par if not better than Dilwara temple and much much better than Nathdwara ) . Another such place was Rajsamand which at full capacity is a sight to behold. Please do not get caught up in Jaipur/Jodhpur , they are all right but they were most "boring" for me.

Rajasthan = ‘Land of Kings’. Land of forts and palaces. Forts on mountains. Thar Desert. Also many lakes. Oldest mountain of India - Aravali and its peak. Famous national parks especially with tigers and migratory birds from Europe and North Asia. Colourful attire. Famous textile prints. Royal style in culture. These are some things for which Rajasthan is one of the famous tourist place in India. Well there are many more.

1) Thar Desert,...... also known as the Great Indian Desert, is a large arid region in the northwestern part of the Indian subcontinent that covers an area of 200,000 km2 (77,000 sq mi) and forms a natural boundary between Indiaand Pakistan. It is the world's 17th largest desert, and the world's 9th largest subtropical desert. About 85% of the Thar Desert is located within India, with the remaining 15% in Pakistan.[1] In India, it covers about 170,000 km2 (66,000 sq mi), and the remaining 30,000 km2 (12,000 sq mi) of the desert is within Pakistan. The Thar desert forms approximately 5%(~4.56%) of the total geographic area of India. More than 60% of the desert lies in the state of Rajasthan, and extends into Sindh, Gujarat, Punjab, and Haryana. The desert comprises a very dry part, the Marusthali region in the west, and a semidesert region in the east with fewer sand dunes and slightly more precipitation. 2) ( known As Chittod Gahd Fort OF Padmavati'' .... Kumbhalgarh fort (or Kumbhal fort) is a Mewar fortress on the westerly range of Aravalli Hills, in the Rajsamand districtnear Udaipur of Rajasthan state in western India. It is a World Heritage Site included in Hill Forts of Rajasthan. Built during the course of the 15th century by Rana Kumbha. Occupied until the late 19th century, the fort is now open to the public and is spectacularly lit for a few minutes each evening. Kumbalgarh is situated 82 km northwest of Udaipur by road. It is the most important fort in Mewar after Chittorgarh Fort. In 2013, at the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Kumbhalgarh Fort, along with five other forts of Rajasthan, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan. With the walls of the fort extending over 38 km, it is claimed to be the second-longest continuous wall after the Great Wall of China; the fort is among the largest fort complexes in the world, and the second largest fort in India after Chittor Fort. 3) Garadia Mahadev ....Kota (/ˈkoʊtə/ (listen)) previously known as Kotah, is a city located in the southeast of northern Indian state of Rajasthan.[4] It is located about 250 kilometres (155 mi) south of the state capital, Jaipur, situated on the banks of Chambal River. With a population of over 1.2 million, it is the third most populous city of Rajasthan after Jaipur and Jodhpur, 46th most populous city of India and 53rd most populous urban agglomeration of India. It serves as the administrative headquarters for Kota district and Kota Division. Kota is a major coaching hub of the country for competitive examination preparations and has a number of engineering and medical coaching institutes.[5] Books like Life in a Nutshell by Nitish Rajpurohit and Harsh Agarwal highlight the life of students in the city.[6][7][8] The city of Kota was once the part of the erstwhile Rajput kingdom of Bundi. It became a separate princely state in the 17th century. Apart from the several monuments that reflect the glory of the town, Kota is also known for its palaces and gardens.[9][10] Mahesh Vijay of Bhartiya Janta Party is the current Mayor of Kota.[11] In 2013, Kota was ranked the second most livable city in the state (after Jaipur) and forty-first in the country among 50 cities.[12] The city was also included among 98 Indian cities for Smart Cities Mission initiated by Indian prime minister Narendra Modi in 2015[13]and was listed at 67th place after results of first round were released following which top 20 cities were further selected for funding in the immediate financial year.[14] It is popular among the youth of India for its coaching institutes for engineering and medical entrance examinations. A large number of students come to Kota to prepare for the IIT JEEand NEET.[15] 4) Haunted Village ... Kuldhara is an abandoned village in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, India. Established around the 13th century, it was once a prosperous village inhabited by Paliwal Brahmins. It was abandoned by the early 19th century for unknown reasons, possibly because of dwindling water supply, or as a local legend claims, because of persecution by the Jaisalmer State's minister Salim Singh. A 2017 study suggests that Kuldhara and other neighbouring villages were abandoned because of an earthquake.
