Rajendra Kumar and BR Chopra always remained good friends , its rajendra kumar mistake not to accept chopra's films later and just kept working only with ramanandsagar , mohan kumar who could not make any thing big in films other than giving some commercial hits to jubilee kumar Had he worked with chopra's in more films he would have been blessed with awards as well , Though he has given great performances in dil ek mandir , arzoo , saathi , gora aur kaala later as well but there was no proper helping hands from industry to do him favor , everyone knows the awards are given based on lobbying and canvassing and media management many a times The actor in him is well recognized and established by great directors like mehboob khan , br chopra , vijay bhatt, devendar goyal , mahesh kaul etc between 1955-1961. But since he choose more commercial path later which made him jubilee star but his distancing away from great directors of 1950s kept him down if one want to be a commercial actor he need to have good PR and Media Management and need to be some what political , Rajendra Kumar despite been on top never involved in these activities that's the reason why he was not duly recognized and some loyalists of other actors in media created a propaganda against him as not a good actor which was never been an opinion among common public , common public of those time always loved his acting and even today many common people love his acting and movies and I many times observe when ever any person openly support him these so called critics feels frustrated why I don't know the one reason I never like critics and review writers of films is because they once form opinion on any actor they absolutely never come out of that opinion and always try to build their narrative on those lines only (always ignore or overly critical about actor whom they don't like) for every movie of the actor which is not correct way to do. Anyway awards , critics opinion are nothing before common people mandate , yes rafi , shankar jaikishan contributed well for his movies but are they not the singer ,music directors for many other actors of that time? then why no one got success as much as Rajendra kumar in 1960s , Here the clear vision of rajendra kumar to choose best and clean movies, best songs and his dedication on sets etc played big role than just only the contribution of singers and musicians , and above all family audience are biggest supporters for rajendra kumar that is why many of his movies ran jubilees Rajendra kumar is very much a involving and dedicated actor he used to involve in direction , production , music selections etc of his moives all these made him reach to top , people say due to rajesh khanna his graph became down its absolutely bullshit opinion there is about 15 years age gap between both the actors , in those days any top actor career is not more than 10-15 years though dev anand continued as actor and that is just only because of his own production and direction

its not correct , the actress loved him and proposed him first. Any way that is not correct reason even if they got married people would have accepted just like how they accepted dharmendra-hemamalini. People still express feeling that it would have been good if their love was successful. Every superstar will have his peak and lows , rajendrakumar career slowed down only due to age factor he lost his charming looks from 1969 in movies like anajana , talash he started looking old so there was no more the magic of jubilees he got in early 1960s at same time people started liking different kind of films and industry started drifting away from melodrama kind of movies Unlike raj kapoor , dev anand rajendra kumar did not invested in his film career later in 1970s and only limited himself to some low budget movies made by his brother naresh kumar which most of them failed and later he switched to character roles. At same time he invested his money in developing his studio and kept investment various businesses through which he gained lot of wealth and remained richest actor of industry.
