Mayank Pratap Singh, set to become India's youngest judge speaks exclusively to RSTV

Rajasthan Judicial Services examination results were declared on November 22, 2019, 21-year-old Mayank Pratap Singh is set to become India's youngest judge after topping the examination. He said that the Rajasthan High Court judgement to lower the age requirement for appearing in the judicial services exam made it possible for him to appear in the exam.

He'll retire as a high court judge under normal progression . It takes 30-35 to get promoted to additional justice , high court . It takes 25 years from the post of junior civil judge to become a district judge . People here are telling that he will become CJI / supreme court judge etc... Not possible ! It's possible only if he clears higher judicial exams which being a judge . That will give him faster promotion , then he'll retire as high court chief justice ( very very very rare)

How did he become judge at 21? Direct judge after 3 year degree? No LLB? at age 16 he would be in 10th at age 18 in pre university or 12th and at age 21 just out of degree collage even with 5 year BA LLB he would still be studying, How did he clear degree and llb and write judicial service exam at 21?

Experience plays a very crucial role in judgement. Based on study of laws & passing an exam it can be easy to become a judge. But wisdom comes with experience & the more you see life, more is the nature of understandings you achieve. Hope he proves to be a goof judge with time but more time should be spent to understanding through practicals before giving judmements at this tender age.
