I have seen more then 10 times this movie. What a suspens thriller movie i have ever seen in my life. What a story, direction, songs, scenic view of sikkim everything in this moovie which everyone enjoyed well. Pure movie me devanand sab ko ritsar ullu banaya gaya hai bichara ghumta hi rehta hai. Jewel Thief is one of my favourite movie. This movie was released in Delhi and UP by M/s. Great Arts Pvt. Ltd., Where my late father worked as Manager. That's why I have seen this movie a number of times. Now I think that such a nice suspense thriller with best direction, best music and best actors can not be repeated in the current film industry better than the old Jewel Thief, the master piece of its time.

Vijay Anand and his older siblings, Chetan and Dev, were ahead of time and their contemporaries. Yes, Vijay was inspired by the master of suspense Hitchcock and Dev by Gregory Peck. Vijay proved he was a creative genius in his first film, Nau Do Gyarah (1957) . He was a master of suspense and twists and turns in the plot. He got the best out of Dev, Ashok Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Kishore Sahu, Pran, Premnath and Ifthekar. Vijay was called Goldie because most of his films (Kala Bazaar, Tere Ghar ke Samne, Guide, Teesri Manzil, Jewel Thief and Johnny Mera Naam) were Golden Jubilee hits in the cinema halls of the bygone era. Sadly, Vijay did not get his due in Hindi cinema considering his awesome body of work. Hope younger generation watches his films.

Jewel Thief was undoubtedly a great suspense thriller in Hindi cinema. It was just too good. And while all the songs were excellent the last number is mind blowing. And the dance by Vayjantimala in "hothon pe aisi baat... " is the cream of cream dances in movies. Single shots of more than a minute can be seen in this song. And the complex movement by the artistes especially Vayjantimala take the breath away.

I loved it very very much ❤❤ There is a scene in the movie when Vinay does a sort of investigation in Helen's apartment.. in the background score we can hear the mukhda of a song , played on a vibraphone,Pancham composed for another movie that came in 1972.. 'Garam Masala' , and the song was 'तुम जैसो को तो पायल में बाॅंध लूॅं समझ़ो ना मुझे़ अनाडी'!! (It's my love for this man RD Burman that I like to keep sharing some information about him in comments. wow this has been my fav movie and I have always said Jewel Thief was the best suspense movie perfect cast , Dev anand Vyjanthi mala was perfect cast but I must say Ashok Kumar was the best even when we know that who is a real jewel thief we still sit at the edge . Must watch
