রাখি গুলজার যে আজ এত জনপ্রিয় অভিনেত্রী হয়েছেন,তার পিছনে আছে ,বিখ্যাত বাংলা ছবির অভিনেত্রী সন্ধ্যা রায় এর অবদান। সন্ধ্যা রায় কোনো এক ছবির শ্যুটিং চলাকালীন রাস্তায় দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা রাখিকে দেখে তাকে ডেকে নেন এবং সিনেমা করার কথা বলেন।এরপর সন্ধ্যা রায় এর তত্ত্বাবধানে রাখি নাচ এবং অভিনয়ে তালিম নেন এবং "বধূবরণ"ছবিতে প্রথম অভিনয় করেন নায়িকা চরিত্রে। তার আগে অবশ্য "বাঘিনী"ছবিতে একটি নাচের দৃশ্যে অভিনয় করেছেন। এখন তিনি অসুস্থ সন্ধ্যা রায় এর খোঁজ খবর রাখেন কি না জানি না।
