Rakiraki town is in the village of Rakiraki, in the jikinaraki of Rakiraki, in a province named after Akman Ra, the Egyptian sun god or as the itaukei call them a kalouVu. So much history in Viti. Some appreciate the history pre-colonialism (1874). Some may dismiss them as myths and legends. But the landmarks are still there. And the people of the land are well versed with the knowledge pass downed word by mouth. In iTaukei Fijian, India mean adia which means taken or the act of taking. So, eons ago, those who migrated and ended up in the sub-continent of India took something or someone with them.
