The stories of Nakauvadra is just a romanticised tale of something that took place in stories. A story which intepret as where the hill which Ancestors descended.... but in fact those that settled Fiji came by sea, and no one descended from the mountains. Nakauvadra is a story of an ancestral mythology of a group of Fijians ...those that came from West-Guadalcanal in the the Solomon Islands. It is said that they were the last arrivals runaways from headhunters back home. They have silent T's in their language. This so because they had tongue piercing on their tongue tips producing T sound wasn't possible now the practice have gone but language still remains.

@@ThePaleBlueDot I have spent a lot of time around nandovi and vaileka and I assure you mr dot,you havnt dug deep enough..lol.agreed it's not pretty as compare to say,Ba.but then very few towns in Fiji are known for their beauty..maybe levuka but it has taken a hit with last cyclone..suva in the eighties was a lovely post colonial city now it is halfway to becoming just another trashy nondescript city.lautoka used to be quite nise but has been hit hard by the indian exodus and I was shocked at how down at heel it is now. prouds being allowed to build into the park has desecrated what was a lovely parade..I was so shocked they had done that.especially when they could have demolished any area of the city centre to build it and it would have been an improvement . I had considered travel writing but over the years I decided I couldn't given the way tourism and development can destroy what was there..on most of my travels I am left thinking, wish I was here ten years ago, fifty, sometimes one hundred years..lol. Fiji does have a place in my heart tho, regardless of what they do to it. As Patrick white once said...worship in a ruin..lol
