Raksha First Thoughts on Week of Release [Runescape 3]

Got a couple tips that could be helpful. The problem with binding your prayers to your mouse is you're constantly activating them inhibiting your ability to click precisely and reliably. I suggest moving your prayer binds to some keys adjacent to your resting hands position on your keyboard. It might feel a little overwhelming at first but once you get it down I think it would help alot in not just raksha but for other situations as well. The other thing is that raksha's melee attack can be reacted easily to. He tilts his head backwards just before a melee hit giving you time to react to it. If you dont see the animation you know it's either going to be a range or mage attack. I only have 2 side buttons on my mouse and have no problems doing this boss at all with little food. So a gaming mouse is 100% not required, it just takes good keybinds and practice. Looking forward to see you improve my man.

I have a few solo kills now and I can say from experience that this boss is slightly overtuned. Not overtuned by a lot but just slightly where 2 autos could kill you whereas at least the update will change that to 3 or maybe 4. I agree 100% with rocks, they need to be nerfed either in damage or frequency, and is it just me or do they hit me when i'm 2/3 tiles away?! It seems very unfair at times. The fact that you think a gaming mouse is required for this boss says it all lmao. If you're going in with that mindset you have lost already. By kiting the boss (the kill you've shown) you are making life SO DIFFICULT for your self. He will never melee auto attack twice in a row, which makes soul split flicking so simple.

I don't see why gaming mice would be required, but it does make it easier. What a weird mindset to have. You are just choosing to make it harder on yourself. Same way people buy better controllers and keyboards, headsets for every other game as well.

If he doesn't want a different mouse that his own thing and more power to him, he can obviously play very well and do everything in game. Yet he claims he doesn't want a gaming mouse to be necessary when others suggest it to him and he doesn't have enough keybinds for this one particular boss fight. Doesn't add up to me

I've solo'd all solo bosses in the game (the ones that are designed to be solo anyway), and I can't do this one. I think the only way I would be able to do it is to completely rebind all my keybinds and even then it is hard because there is no consistency with the timing on the mage hit and the melee hit can catch you out when he is moving too. Also agree that sometimes his tail spin just doesn't register when you move out of the way in time? And also his charge attack has a huge damage radius. There are a lot of cool things about the boss and the arena they designed but it is like too much for the game engine and average player to cope with imo.

The solution is to always pray melee as you can't really react to that one and then switch to mage/ranged when necessary. You will almost never miss a flick like that.

@@bananapower8308 the melee hit is possible to react to reliably if you pay attention to his animations before he sends out his attack. There's a distinct animation he only does before he does a melee hit. You can soul split sustain quite reliably since you wont have to preemptively pray melee before every attack

I believe the boss is good for mid to high level pvmers. Atleast the drop will hold of value and can’t be farmed by Everyone. I also like the idea of flicking, but if in MD should just use melee and he shouldn’t always force himself into MD outside of it. I’m not a real good pvmer by any means but I got my first kill by defender camping and nothing but occasional prayer flick the rest of time was spent on soulsplit. Wasn’t record times but I get the kills

What's the point of soloing if in duos only 1 person needs to worry about basing and the other has a much easier time? Probably only for top level pvmers to solo.

I would say a majority of players play RS3 solo most of the time. I duo with my roommate but most of the time I just do my activities solo.

With a solo mode people looking for duos can realistically expect that you've learned the boss in solo.

​@@MichaelOcherz Well I kind of agree because that is the RS community mentality; it is all about efficiency and kills per hour. Very few people will want to team up and teach someone in a duo for free. Duo mode will be for experience players playing together for more kills per hour, or basically for selling 'leech' kills.

I 100% agree with Tony. This boss is very unfriendly to learn. Sure you got to have a challenge of some sort or this game is too easy but a boss that uses prayer flicks like OSRS shouldn't belong to RS3.

This boss Sucks, I was excited to get back into runescape because of this boss, then i go and get smacked for 2 days straight, Nah ill play Cyberpunk instead.
