In 80s, 90s and 2000s, North Indian ppl liked Tamil creators sensibilities so much.. Like Ek Duuhe Ke Liye, Sadma, Appu Raja, Roja, Bombay, Dilse, Guru, Aprachit, Nayak, Robot, etc.. Those films have commercial values with great storylines.. Now Tamil Cinema has went onto another level and make films.. They're blending realism with great storytelling but Hindi audience chooses unrealistic commercial cinema over these masterpieces.. PS-I is great in terms of storytelling with natural performance.. They failed this film in their zone.. However, it's a industry hit in Tamil Nadu, super hit in Kerala and overseas..

Tamils have made films from the 40s. Tamil film industry is as old as Bollywood. In the 50s onwards, AVM,Gemini made films both in Tamil and Hindi. Go and watch some old movies like "Bhabhi", "Ganga ki Lahren", "Miss Mary" etc. Later hits like "Dil ek Mandir", "Haathi mere Satthi" were made both in Tamil and Hindi.

When i saw the movie first time, i could not understand that why kundavai, immediatelly ask to meet vandithevan in personal, and that has vandiyathevan already fallen for her in the song? But now i am currently reading the novel, first book fresh floods And now i understood the entire situation Basically it's not first meet of kundavai and vandiyathvan. they already met 2 times, and our hero has already fallen for her in the first meet, but didnt knew at that time that this beautiful women is none another than the revered chola princess kundavai. For kundavai, she notices this guy, who stormed into the astrogers house, bravely came to rescuse her girl gang fron crocodile, and now she sees him in the disguise and recognises him.

P S 1 looks like a great must watch movie n on a very good subject of proud ancient Indian history. Good that unlike dubbed songs 🎵 dubbed movie dialogues r in pure Hindi ( Sanskrit worded ) ................. Movie songs would have been even better had A R hired someone who could write pure Hindi songs which would have connected us more with those great ancient times ................. I think makers still have time for the release n they can have songs rewritten in pure Hindi which does justice to our great Chola warriors . Music is ok but still does not properly reflect bravery , enthusiasm n power of our Great Chola kings ......... Musicians AJAY - ATUL did a very good job in Veer Ras in their music for songs in movies like TANHAJI n PANIPAT

What do you mean by pure Hindi or any pure language at any point of history. Hindi or any other language have evolved over years and I am 100% sure that you would not understand anything if they use the langauge,word used that time in this movie. Also Cholas did not know Hindi or talked in Hindi. If you want purity ...learn the native language that is Tamil in this case and enjoy the movie. The makers have just used the langauge that can be understood by most of people. And regarding Ajay-Atul or any other MD doing better than ARR.... Increase your music sensibilities.

My guy do you know how dubbing of songs works? The song is written in the og language and then music is given to it....And after that when the dubbing starts, from the respective language words closer in meaning and pronunciations are selected and made to fit in the already created music...So to expect pure Hindi in dubbed songs is hypocrisy as it's very hard to dubb keeping the soul and spirit of the og language alive... And abt ur second pt...the movie doesn't try to show the power of the great Chozhas....The period Ponniyin Selvan is depicting is the darkest time of the Empire, just before its most glorious phase...The Rule of Raja Raja and his son Rajendra 1....This time period is not abt how glorious the Chozhas were, its abt how the Empire almost collapsed but yet stood becoz of the kindness and sacrifice of Ponniyin Selvan....So if u go searching for heroics in this movie..u won't find them as they are not trying to show them ....This is not the classic historical tale of good guys triumph over baddies...these kings were at their Zenith ..so they didn't have any outer enemies to face...their enemies were their own people .. therefore it's not glorious... it's dark and gritty and ugly!!!
