Thankyou. Genuinely mean that, video took 2 hours to edit, glad the slow motion jet wash clip has been recognised 😮

The oval shape frame on the Raleigh Mag 20 looks exactly the same as my Raleigh Mag Burner I use to have in 1985, except in a different colour with different style decals. I like the Raleigh Chopper, Grifter, Striker and Boxer, but the BMX’s from the 80s era reminded me of my childhood and that iconic chase scene in ET in 1982. Time flies by from being a teenager in 1982 to almost an old man at 52. 😂 Watching that slow motion jet water scene was like meditation. It was calming to watch and worked like a treat… Looking at the Raleigh Mag 20, I reckon the white seat was original because the seat clamp was white, mags are white and the crank cover is white, matching the seat colour. Great video!

Thankyou for your kind comment... I'm learning new video editing skills, time lapse, voice over, transition and most recently slow motion.. I might introduce more slow motion jet wash clips as they're great to edit, maybe not as long next time... You'll enjoy the Christmas/ new year project, not going to say too much but it's definitely going to take some master mechanics to sort that one out

It's a lovely survivor Phil. I've got to work out the brake set up... I think it's chrome levers and calipers from factory but some nice wienham brakes would look nice I reckon

Cheers Tony.. I was lucky, I had the suntour spec ultra burner.. trashed it everywhere I went, that got stolen unfortunately. You're never too old to relive your lost youth if you haven't managed to get one 😊

I'm surprised you've not picked up a burner yet Paul. Choppers do my nut in, don't mind finding them complete but the parts are so expensive.. £200 for a shifter, £100 for a seat, not cheap trying to build them unless you manage to get a job lot of bits.. Best thing about burners is they're reasonably cheap for the missing bits

@@dealermike1331 yeah I know what you mean Mike but I've never liked bmx's and they don't appeal to me at all. Must complete my chopper collection Cheers 🥂

Lovely story. We did some funny things to our burners back in the day. Although I never rattled canned one.. think the most daring was swapping pad sets. Would love a skyway, even a replica.. might try and do one if I can find a cheap enough frame 😐

Cheers for the comment. They vary on demand, time of year or trends or even outside of my control situations.. interest rate rises, fuel price rises etc.. however a basket case, knackered one anything from £130 for a minter at £550..

Sakae Ringyo. A company formed I think in the 1960's. From Tokyo Japan. They made pedals, stems and handlebars.. they made other bits also, seat clamps and so on.

those bikes were and still are a total joke- youre better off throwing it on the tip or melting it down . horrible things- mild steel, poor welds, slack geometry and heavy as hell. no one who really loved bmx had one bmx was from the states, Raleigh just tried to copy it and got it all wrong. my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time

Thankyou.. I admit the welds were shocking, they were known as 'toothpaste welds' back in the day, personally I think they ride ok, however Raleigh did some millions of them. I would happily have a skyway, or a PK ripper but these burners do sell, they demand decent money and if you can find one at a good price (like I did with this) then a profit can be made.. source the missing parts then move it on. I had them growing up back in the 80's and for many it's about reliving one's childhood. Whether they are purchased as display items or 'pub bikes' or just to ride about on occasionally then who am I to judge... It's important for anyone in there 40's who had a burner to relieve that era and remember those important times whilst we can because at some stage we may be struck down with some awful illness or disease by which time it'll be too late..

I agree Mike. Raleigh made some good bikes. They never tried to be better than American BMX’s because that wasn’t there aim, but rather offer a more affordable BMX for ordinary folk who couldn’t afford the exorbitant prices to buy an American Haro Freestyler or GT, Mongoose or whatever. American made BMX’s were better than British made BMX’s simply because they spent more money, investing in higher quality tooling and welds so their bikes could justify the higher prices but it was the Japanese made BMX’s, like Kuwahara which made its debut in the ET film that put American made BMX’s in the shadows.

@@lg_believe333well said bud.. it's similar to cars from the 80's in theory. If you had an xr2, Rs turbo, Renault 5 GT turbo in your late teens early twenties and you're now in your late 40's you want that era back. The prices of these cars now are sadly out of reach for a good few, however those of us who had these cars also had the burners for Christmas in 1984 / 85 and thankfully these are relatively still affordable which in turn makes them popular eleven in today's climate

@@lg_believe333to add, I remember that seen from ET... Cracking film, still can't sit through a whole episode without crying, that scene where they thought ET was dead cuts me up every time 😢
