The Raleigh area actually is larger than Nashville metro. There is an artificial division of the Raleigh / Durham area that are clearly directly connected and interchanged together, but counted as two separate metro areas for some crazy reason. It shortchanges the Triangle area greatly as its real metro area is larger than Nashville's.

Completely agree...there's so many ways to look at the "Raleigh" metro area, but when you combine everything in the area it's a pretty large population for sure.

I feel like you made this video just for me 😊 they have more alike than we think. Raleigh is a lot smaller but a lot safer (crime in Nashville is crazy I know you can’t talk about it) I get more bang for my buck here in Raleigh. Nashville is a large major city so you will spend more on a night out than you would in Raleigh because there’s just a lot more to do in Nashville entertainment wise. Nashville being my hometown born and raised, I will say Nashville is more welcoming and diverse than Raleigh when it comes to culture but I met some amazing people in Raleigh. I give Raleigh a hard time but when I lived in Nashville, I still had investment properties here in north Raleigh before leaving Nashville for good. Raleigh has potential we have to plan it the right way.

I love Chicago to visit but would struggle to live there with the long winters

In addition to weather, both locations have a lower cost of living especially property taxes.

You Know Raleigh is getting short changed when Counting the Metro area smh Raleigh Durham is a bigger metro area yes I know the US census say CSA area but guess what??? Raleigh Durham has a bigger CSA metro than Nashville CSA so we are bigger

Agree in that it definitely changes things when you add in Durham and Chapel-Hill, as they are so close that it all feels like one big city.

When I first moved to Raleigh from Nashville I thought Raleigh and Durham was considered one big metropolitan area but I found out it wasn’t and I was like that’s stupid because I considered them together and closer in size with Nashville but still a little smaller. I found out Durham wanted to be separated because of money or something like that. Same thing happened to Nashville and Clarksville. Clarksville is now park of Hopkinsville my forming its own metro. According to the census Raleigh Durham chapel hill CSA is still smaller than greater Nashville but Wikipedia will tell something different lol. It’s the debate I still have with my friends here in Raleigh lol.

@BryantBaudelaire Actually a little bigger than Nashville and Nashville has a bigger Sq mileage, we have a much higher per capita income than Nashville, we have a bigger TV market than Nashville just behind Charlotte and Raleigh Durham is projected to yes ! Surpass even Big bad Charlotte in the next 10 years that's not along time, but back to Nashville The Tourists number for Wake County just came out and guess what ??? Better,more and stronger performance than Nashville /Davidson County. Also check out MLB RALEIGH
