I had the pleasure to be working with him a few training sessions when I was in the Academy of Hoffenheim and he was the Manager at the first team. A few general takeaways for me were: 1) He is a very demanding coach with his own philosophy & structures which he is able to make the players understand within a short period of time - the players need to function within his systems, otherwise he won't hesitate to give the chance/invest in alternative players, who didn't max out on their market value yet (will be interesting to see changes in the starting line up of ManU) 2) Tactically he adopts really quickly to the league and quality of the players. He knows how to win games while exciting the fans with his offensive style of playing. The GK is seen as the "first attacker" translating into the teams scoring a lot more goals than before. I know that Rangnick rather wins 6:4 than 2:0 because he wants to create a strong bound with the fans. 3) His frequency of investing in "unknown" players who he was able to develop into stars is something unmatched in the football world to this day. Therefore, I expect ManU to develop into a club with more international players (youth & senior teams) in order to make a financial return when selling players. 4) Rangnick was never appointed to be e.g. Bayern Munich's Manager since he needed to have more power than just being the "coach" in order to make his philosophy really flourish - demanding control over transfers, structures within the club, etc. was something that only a few club's in Germany wanted to commit to. As a result, he tended to take over "development projects" such as Hoffenheim and Leipzig or, since only a few of German Clubs gave him this much power. Due to coaches in the UK having a lot more power compared to Germany, I think Rangnick is a perfect match for the Premier League & ManU. Rangnick is the best coach, manager and player agent Germany has to offer - Congratulations ManU & Fans!

Yesss. That makes a lot of sense on why he never went into big clubs. At the same time, the board at Utd is a cancer and needs to be treated. I’m sure he adapts quickly. Look at Tuchel when people complained “he hasn’t had experience in England” This guy is a footballing genius tactician. Most importantly his style isn’t washed up and is actually relevant unlike where players felt coaching under ole and crew was “too British”. I hope the players turn up and start running their socks off.

Hi guys I played football on the right wing and I coached myself to perpetually time runs against the back line and being fast and Sunday pisshead football I had a field day I transitioned to CF and hit goal game after game I played for a jail team I scored one nil. We won. Never met rennick tho but I assure you he's the manager we need as the structure of man utd is decimated so this guy will fix it from top to bottom I promise.. I'm not a pro tho yo

Good appointment but it will take time, sometimes the team will get it right and other times not. Plus there will initially be lots of injuries especially as United players are not used to running so much, this further hinders the progress. Could take 3-4 years to fully implement this philosophy to a club like utd.

With all due respect to Lampard, I love em, but I think it would be best for him to step down now and for this guy to come in. I love Ralf. Absolutely brilliant . He would be perfect for us. Lampard has done his Claudio ranieri role, in terms of him doing what Claudio did before Jose came in. He prepared the team in terms of that defensive stability that Jose wanted, but he just wasn’t the right man for the job. Mourinho came In , and did it with ease due to the foundations ranieri made within the team. Also made JT a young captain, which helped immensely under Jose and under other coaches . Frank set the team up to high press, to play the football more dynamically rather than a sarri with the same formation, but just isn’t the right man for the job. That’s okay, because Ralf can come in and do what is needed for the rest of the job and get the best out of the players. Bright things if we got him. Bright bright things.
