Ralfi's Alley - F-16 Strike at Dawn

My first combat flight in GAW right at Dawn with Elmo and Kamsa. Do take note that this was probably the second time I touched the module since getting it and I still need a lot of work to get to know this module. It's quite a bit different than the BMS flights i remember doing the many years ago.

I have only very minor knowledge of it so far and I'm studying the manuals to get the info in my head about everything. This looked considerably better than the flights of many people I know who have upwards of 20-30 hours in the jet, so clearly you're doing something right.

​@@southernbear736 Yeah. NWS on basically turns the Viper into the Top Gear Reliant Robin. I don't know if the gain is too high on the rudder/NWS or something, but it's the only module where I'm practically taking off sideways half the time even with NWS off. It was never that bad when I played Falcon 4.0 over the years. It takes me less effort to get the Huey off the ground.

Anyways, @ralfidude: The Viper has a JHMCS, but you have to turn the dial for it on (It's the knob on the left front console underneath your countermeasure programs. Makes it a lot easier to chuck a HOBS 9X at a bandit. If you didn't take the 9X out of slave mode, you can hold cursor enable to temporarily put it in BORE.

I don't do personal training lessons anymore. But there are tons of manuals and yt videos to learn from. Search for CHUKS GUIDE for whatever module you need and go from there. Good luck.

@@ralfidude Agreed, bought it at release and haven't really touched it since. Made that mistake with the Hornet and am still unlearning the negative training from learning an incomplete module. I still forget to turn on IFF and datalink in that jet occasionally during start up because it wasn't there at release. I can't wait for the Viper to get to a place in it's development where I'm confident to start learning it!

Nice feature of the Viper is that you can go to the Bingo page on the DED and keep an eye on it instead of having to look at the gauge. Very common to have that repeated on the HUD as well.
