Awesome video Ralfi. Those guns on F-15s' were great. You're certainly a master of lead/static sight shooting. The selective jet on/aim-9 fail has caught me a few times. I reckon mapping emergency jet is the quickest way for it. Turn off pumps. Emergency jet. Obviously no good if you want to keep your other pylons (if carrying bombs) Agree that it's a great, fun module. Belsimtek have done well

I also have problems with missiles not launcing sometimes. Seems random. Pylons selected, good tone, missiles uncaged, holding the the launch button but no joy. Jettison switch in safe position.

Had the same issue with the AIM-9s on the Tiger just today. Was in a knifefight with a Flanker and got several hits with the guns headon into it but with no effect. After 2-3min the Flanker decided to GTFO and I tried to fire a Winder after it, missiles selected, armed and good tone but they just wouldnt leave the rail. Seems like we have to wait for a fix for that as well...

The two main reasons why they won't fire would be 1) They need to be warmed up. If you just flipped the switch and want to fire, they won't. 2) Selective jettison switch is in the up position. Needs to be in the middle position to be able to fire Aim-9s.

Good flying bud. The chute needs ground repair to be rearmed (shut down engines). Belsimtek might change that to a simple auto-repair on rearm tho. (Forum discussion). Thats for me tioning the server. Gonna give that place a try :)

Yesterday was my first time actually starting up the F-5E and flying it, I struck a mountain after diving with throttle idle and when I wanted to pull up I remembered my throttle was still idle so I lost both my elevators, I managed to fly back to a town where I thought the airfield was at, I was wrong so I had to fly back like 10km but I actually managed to land safely without damage.

Ralfie, I remember watching a video about Top Gun (in the eighties). There, teachers taught their pilots to climb high to avoid being shot by Migs. Migs weren't going to be able to climb as high as the F-14, so they had to go down earlier, so the F-14 could get into their backs and blow them...

f-5e was my favorite when I was a kid, early eighties, and it's great to see them in action wow, really are still a great fighter plane even against the best in the world. These opponents sound inexperienced however. Bet it's different if they see you first! Sounds like a joy really nice design lines on this jet, like a mini hornet. I thought for sure the RCAF had crates of them under ground ready to assemble... LOL

before i bought my HOTAS warthog and rudders i was using a logitech extreme 3d pro with a razer tartarus chroma. but you lack the sensitivity of a throttle so air to air refueling is almost impossible because of that. if you can find yourself a throttle that has enough buttons to map the coolie hat, the tdc and china hat, and if you can map your tms dms and counter mesure plus trim on your joystick you'll be in a pretty good shape

air refueling has always been real pain in the ass no matter how good your HOTAS are. you can use ctrl+enter to see where your controls are and can manage your speed using num+ and num-..

If you practice everyday you'll get use to air to air refueling.. I absolutely sucked when i started but now i can do it without disconnecting while having the kc-135 in a turn. It's just a matter of doing it regularly but without a throttle i don't think it would be as 'easy'

Yes. But the Su-25T is free, so you can try it out and see if you like it!

You can build your way up, SU25T (free), one of the Flaming Cliffs 3 aircraft (F15/Su27), and then finally a full technical aircraft. There are plenty of videos on youtube on flying tutorials to help, as well as the reddit.

Just download it, its free and you get the su-25t and a civilian mustang as your free aircaraft (you have to buy other modules). there is quite a bit to learn but its managable.

You dont need your PPL. I dont think Ralfi has one, and I don't think the majority f simmers have one. Don't worry about it. Just download DCS and give the mustang and SU-25 a try. Its quite fun.

Both do similar jobs, yet differently. It depends what you're into. There's more to do in the 21, but it's harder to use due to its simplicity. F5 is super easy to use but limited by what it can do.

And why would I want to tell my target I'm right behind him with a radar lock? PS: The gun solution is for a non maneuvering target as far as I understand it. So as soon as you are in a turn fight, it becomes very useless. I tested this out on my own and it definitely seems to be the case. Though there is also the chance I may be doing something wrong. But for an old aircraft like this I wouldn't expect to have a pin point accurate gun solution like the F-15 has.

There was some talk about the other F5 variants, i believe they have chosen not to for some technical reason. Would love to have seen the F5 with the air2air refuel. You never know, the Brazilians on the forums are very loudly pushing for the Brazilian variant.

Because people will complain about anything, and shooting down an aircraft like the A-10 with missiles when you can be a sport and take them on with guns seems to be the more appropriate measure. I personally try to use guns on those AG guys, simply because it's a waste of a missile otherwise. But sometimes.... you just have to.
