I’m just starting to sell on eBay and I love this video. I’ve been so intimidated to start but the way you showed everything step by step, I’m feeling more confident. I hope you continue to make these easy to understand videos for those of us who are just getting started.

Excellent video, I always learn a lot from you guys. I’ll definitely be making a giant hanger like that, looks way better. I don’t understand how you can say there’s no reason not to offer 30 day shipping because they can still return if it’s not as listed. You realize the “not as listed” returns can only happen when the item doesn’t match or doesn’t work when it’s supposed to. While offering returns means they can return for any reason. And more importantly, most eBay buyers don’t know that much about eBay, which is why most of my orders are bought full price despite having offers on everything and me always willing to knock off 5%. I think many of the more ignorant buyers see the “free returns” advertised to them and return more often than if you don’t offer returns, even in circumstances when they may be allowed to either way. That being said, I make returns all the times to my customers, even when I wouldn’t have to, as they happen so infrequently and usually by legitimate issues. But I don’t offer it standard as I feel encourages a lot more returns (which I know is still a low number, but I return almost never now and slightly more when i did 30 day returns). There is the bonus that when you deal with scammers or dishonest people That you can more easily only give them 50% when they send it back damaged or not as you sent.

I have found that donatiting to charity instead of promoting the listing works well for me. It is a 10% minimum, but it bumps your listing up in the search. In my eyes, I would rather the "promotion fee" go to a charity & help someone. It's also a great way to document charitable donations for your taxes.

you wouldn’t believe how many listings on ebay or facebook marketplace i intentionally pass up on because of how bad the pictures are. if an open deodorant stick, a half eaten plate, and dirty clothes are in the background of the playstation you are selling, you probably aren’t the best person to buy from

I agree but I have to say this. People are buying new and USED stuff. They are not buying it from a department store. When you go to garage sales to buy stuff to resale. You don't say hey I would buy that if your garage was cleaner and your driveway was power washed.
@nes_osterone62175 ай бұрын
@@christicrenshaw2772you don’t say it but you def will walk away if you can tell the people are nasty. It would take a lot of persuading to buy someone’s stuff that was bug filled, smelled of cigs, and house falling apart. There’s a difference between dirty and nasty.

Hi from Queensland Australia. Ryan your straight forward way of explaining is really great, just would like to say thank you for that. Our eBay system is a tad different, but the listing page is close enough. However, the postage, this shirt would cost $14.95 AUD to ship in country, (fun), which is about $10 USD. Looking forward to learning more from your videos, and judging from the comments below, I definitely will. I use a dress form I got for free off craigslist from an retiring seamstress

Such a great video! Thank you for starting this beginner's series. I've been really struggling. Much like you, I prefer to list on the eBay website. Again, like you, I use copy /paste from Word for my item description (modifying where necessary). Everything looks fantastic in preview, etc. on the WEBSITE. However, when I look at the same listing on the APP, the description format is either all messed up or you have to click another link to get to the "full description". And as you said, no mobile app user is going to do that. I've listed 15 items on the website so far and manually fixed each of the APP listings. This can't be right! I'm not having fun and I could get a part time job that pays more for my time than this (as someone once said). Would you happen to have any idea of what I might be doing wrong? TIA for any guidance you can give.
