Fellow Nagas of Nagaland do not support KUKI blindly and I will share some reasons. 1. Kuki are boderless people by nature and they welcome everyone from Myanmar, Bangladesh and even inter-state with indigenous issue. You will see Kuki from Nagaland living in Manipur and vice versa i.e., they have 2 or more indigenous states and derive benifit from all. You will see Nagas protesting and suing fellow nagas from other state or country because we are straightforward and respect indigenous rights based on village. 2. KUKI has been a historical enemy of Nagas. You will hear about oral tradition where a pochuri village was massacred by kuki in meluri region and murder of many zeliang people as well. The root cause to all the issue has been the greed for land. Land is our identity and need to be preserved. 3. Kukis do not live in a contiguous zone like nagas. This fact support the idea that they were encroachers and stole land. I am told that Nagas in Manipur are protesting against "ST status of Meitei" because if Meitei get ST status they will dominate the already dominated state services and will even take alot of ST reservation seats in Central and All India services. Most of the nagas are not supporting KUKI on the land issue because they know the ground reality better than us, Nagas in Nagaland. Kuknalim.
