Where is the coverage for the non-open class 2wd cars? Sure it's nice seeing the guys run with big $ backing but I would like to see the smaller teams. I have been doing research on building a car (bmw 2002) to conform to the rules and licensing etc. I have not been able to locate any coverage on this class.

AnssiMarkkanen your right a lot of us have a hard time in show and ice rally's. but i am not one of them. i go up to Canada in the winter time for ice rally racing. and i have been over there were u live and yes they are some of the best SS i have ever driven. the US is new to rally racing. plus in the snow drift rally we don't have studded tires like you fins do. i race it. and yes i think the rally would be 20 times better with the studded tires.a WRC fan. and a ford RS team fan.

It is said studded snow tires deliver better grip than gravel tires on gravel.

ya i see. but like i said give the US time. and we will catch up with WRC. and im trying to get Virginia put on the Rally America. i think with all the mountains it would be a perfect addition to the season. im use to -camber turns and poor tarmac roads. and the fact that we even race dirt. there is a 15 mile private drive.we call it viper trail. if u push too hard it will bit u in the ass. but what makes it grate is the jumps. like wrc. ive bent a shock from it. and lost 2 cars to the trail.

running with out studded tire puts the drivers ability on top. Without the aid of traction devices.

Loeb has only ever driven for citroen right from when he started rallying. where as marcus has driven for toyoya peugot and ford and has won in all those cars as well he is just the better driver

I dont understand why its illegal to use proper snow tyres in rally, It is just stupid. Grip is very different on proper winter tires. Check out Artctic rally footage for real snow driving.

You are right in fact he is the best driver and better than loeb simply because he was fast in more than one car loeb has only driven for one manufacture

You americans drive so god damn slow on slippery surfaces! So much understeering. Watch some Arctic Rally Lapland footage and learn from the best snow/ice drivers in whole world! Speed difference is just amazing!

Look at Scandinavian countries, look at Baltic countries, Russians too, for crying out loud Kazakh rally series uses studded tires! Studded tires are a safer choice. Especially in conditions like the ones in Sno* Drift.
