You don't really need to build a 96 impreza into a rallycross car. Just go. They were basically built to run rallycross stock.

Very informative! Who would break a set of 4 pot brakes, i had never heard of them breaking... untill i broke mine . Wish i had stayed with stock breaks, would have made wheel choose easier and replacement cheaper

Thank you so much for making this series of videos, do you have any info/pics of the cockpit? I'm curious to see stuff like pedal box, cable routing, hydraulic brake etc. Oh do you also have a part number for the King springs you're using with the KYBs?

Hey Erik! Glad you liked them! I have had a few cockpit videos on the backburner for some time now to explain interior/electrical. I have to get off my butt and finish them up. The King springs are the 1.5" raised choices and I obtained them through Primitive Racing here in the US. Hope this helps!

Hi Dylan, I just started my stage car build thanks so much for these videos. Now that you’ve been running rally’s do u still recommend the cheaper KYB struts? Have u broken any? Thanks

Hey Phil, I absolutely still recommend them. They're still my backup set and I've swapped to them to finish rallies when my expensive set has an issue. The only times I've ever damaged them have been when sending it too big off of jumps, and each was completely avoidable and an obviously bad speed each time.

Excellent video. What exact kind of foam did you use for under the oil pan?

Thank you! I actually brought home a few pieces of foam from the shipping room at my work and found one that both compressed properly and did not burn easily when subjected to a lighter. Remember- this will become saturated in oil over time!

Where did you get the material for the wheel well liner from? I’ve been searching everywhere and can’t find anything.

There's a McMaster link in the description to the plastic I used for the extra protection! The rest of the liners on the car are the factory liners but could be replicated with thinner UHMW from McMaster

@@DylanGondyke cool I'll take a look. I have so many questions about rally racing. I've wanted to do my own build, but I just lack the knowledge of where to start. I know what car I want to use, but that's about it for me. I would really like to pick your brain and interview you so that I can have a more in-depth idea of what to expect. Almost an outline if you will. I know you're a busy man and don't have time to speak with a noob like me. But I would greatly appreciate it if we spoke and you could give some pointers. This is a good set of videos you have here on the channel, and I've watched a majority of your runs. I even had a few laughs while watching them too. If you choose not to speak, I completely understand and respect your decision.

@@kiweeltyler3586 I'd really suggest joining a community like North America Rally on Facebook to read more and talk and learn about builds- this was immensely helpful for me. I'm not sure where you're located, but also simply showing up and spectating/volunteering at rallycross/rallysprint/rally events in your area can also teach you more than you could learn in years of online reading!

What is the part number of the Outerwears Shock cover? I see a lot of different sizes for sale. -Have the same AGXs on my Rallycross 2.5 RS.

Hey Derek. This isn't a standard Shockwear product. If ordering from them, use 6.5" dia x 11 tall. The custom order charge is very reasonable.

I've heard full sending a Subaru on its stock suspension might last a day directly from a rally instructor.

Sure, if you go crazy off the jumps. That's what kills normal struts- they're simply not strong enough to survive hard landings. Many competitive teams keep a full set of stock suspension handy as a spare, and one top 5 overall team at Southern Ohio Forest Rally this year ran stock suspension for a number of stages during the day when they had to repair their gravel coilovers. No beginner to stage rally needs a $5,000 suspension just to go race.
