Those years when I was still a young man, I used to watch these races with great pleasure. The times when the pilots really struggled with the cars, the roads and the conditions . Today's pilots are really comfortable, the cars are very technological, the roads are not as difficult as before, everything is very easy, it is not as enjoyable as before. I really miss those years now. The last years when the real struggles took place were the late 90s and early 2000s. Rallying was really magnificent between 1980 and 2005.

Couldn't agree more. I've had this gripe for a long time. Back in the day, you could close your eyes and tell which car was going by, by the sound. Now, everything is restricted, regulated, and homogenized. It's boring. Just like F1. Everything is the same. Everything sounds the same. Everything looks the same. Everything drives the same. Racing is about the team, not just the driver. Give teams freedom to do what they want in the pursuit of speed. I don't care if that means Red Bull wins every race. At least it would spark some innovation- some diversity. At least there would be a competition. Arbitrary restrictions are the death of creativity. I was born in '99, so I don't have the privilege of having memories of Group B, C, or A. However, even from my lens, I can tell you that they were a heck of a lot cooler than what racing is now. I'm disgusted with my generation, the gentrification, and homogonization that has plagued our times. Disgusted.

If you look closer to the Subarus you ll notice that Ericsson was driving the updated Impreza WRC with the "wide track" suspension while McRae was using the old "narrow track" one because he felt better...just check the wheels how deep they are in the arches...

They used to say 'Group B is for man, WRC is for boys' , with the end of Group B , best drivers transited to WRC or RallyX ! Still, this was a great era !
