It is. However the Peugeot contract was 2 years. He was coming back to Subaru for 2004, he even had the team clothing kit sent to him, but as we all know that didnt happen and they filled his seat with Mikko Hirvonen :(

It’s tragic that Burns never got to see how his 5 year plan unfolded. Taken far too soon. McRae had already started to lose interest in the WRC by about 2004 and probably wouldn’t have made a full comeback even if he hadn’t died. But Burns had more to show and offer. Both our top line WRC drivers taken in less than two years. Such a wicked loss. 😞

It was on the Acropolis Rally Burns who was only running a half season schedule that season was running 3rd behind the 2 Ford's of Kankunnen and Sainz. But he deliberately took time penalties after the final service area which allowed Makinen to take 3rd and the extra point that came with it proved crucial in the run in

Odd time for rallying. Cars were nether spectacular or fast, but they were generally reliable but super complex. Great time for the super 1600's though. Those little Punto's looked cheeky

For me it was one of WRC golden era aside from Group B. Late 90's and early 2000's had pretty good title fights, a lot of manufacturers entries, and both iconic cars & drivers

He could afford to drive WRC in San Remo since no one could pass him in the JWRC standings in that single rally even if he was absent, he had to go back to maintain his championship lead.

This is by far the most appalling Corsica Rallye documentary ever made. Histerical image sequences than makes you feel dizzy. Theres no way you like this stupid childish document with dumb music. I've been watching even the most basic amateur recordings in 80s and 90s and you can literally breathe the atmosphere of this magnificent rally. This is the anti-rally document and is also connected with the wrc cars most ugly period.
