The guy driving that Quattro is throwing a classic and very expensive equipment around like its rear wheel drive. Porsche sounds fantastic

Yes it is. You use the handbrake or a scandinavian flick to make the rear end slide and after that just floor it. The front-biased 4WD will pull the car straight again. The car's 4WD is not disconnected at any time.

During the group B era 4WD systems were not that advanced. It was not possible to pull the handbrake while driving. That's why you see them go far out to be able to turn around hairpins. This machine here is no original group B quattro.

On a stock Quattro no, u can't disconnect the 4WD. But there is few high-tech Quattros exists, like Jozef Béres's( type to the browser) Quattro. He can easily turn off the FWD changing the car to only RWD mode.

Is it normal or even possible to drift a Quattro that way on asphalt ?... maybe it would be possible if 4WD is disconnected.... But I don't think it's possible to disconnect the all WD on that car !
