For those who want to know what's the song about. This is a breakup song, she is breaking up with her boyfriend, but looks like she actually doesn't want him to leave her. Feelings of loss, erasure and moving on. Exes staying friends is not a good idea because nothing will stay the same between the two after heartbreak. I'm going to have to do the same this week with my ex. He'll need to grab the last of his things and then it's goodbye for good. Cutting off someone who was the center of your life is hard, falling out of love is harder.

I disagree about staying friends. Either you loved the person for a reason (or reasons) or you didn't. Just because you can't get along well enough to be lifelong partners doesn't mean you can't still get along. It's like you're saying 'if you can't love someone, you have to hate them.' I still talk with my ex, and I try to give her good advice and help with our kids. Just because we couldn't be a perfect couple doesn't mean we can't still be very good friends.
