Ralph Garman Joins The Kevin & Bean Show to Say Goodbye on Bean's Last Day

Ralph Garman, a longtime fixture on the morning show, called in to share some of his favorite memories of working with Bean. They reminisced about one of Ralph's first appearances on the show, an April Fools prank in which he voiced Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke getting in an argument with and punching Bean. They also played a clip from a bit that Bean declared "the single greatest moment of the Kevin & Bean Show", which included Ralph, as Jerry Lewis, speaking to the then-President of France Jacques Chirac.

My highlight with Ralph was the damn wheel of animal voices. He hated that but they still went through with it with him cursing Bean at the end of the bit. That was classic.

I just turned 38 on the 3rd. I moved to Texas in 05. So I grew up as a teen in East L.A., listening, tagging and skating to y'all. I used to collect KROQ stickers. Thanks Kevin and Bean for being in my life. Thank you Bean for being you. Blessings.

I was a devoted k&b listener since 2010. I would listen every single time they were on air. I could understand letting go of Lisa but when Ralph was fired, I stopped listening cold turkey.

The day they fired Ralph, I boycotted the station for weeks. Ralph was the funniest person on the show and it was such a shame to let him go. I wish he would come back. Definitely the funniest and most talented.

@@jquiznos2283 Kevin and Bean's contract was up, mgmt was willing to renew the contract for most of the team, but on the condition that Ralph was not included in the deal. It was during the time that the CBS radio network, including LA stations KROQ, KHits97 ahd 93.1 Jack FM, were being bought by Entercom radio, and CBS radio let some DJs go as a cost-cutting measure (including Rodney Biggenheimer a few months earlier) to make the merger less expensive. Part of the same merger made Entercom give up classic rock radio station 100.3. To avoid losing 100.3's market share to a rival company Entercom sold the station to a Christian music radio station, which obviously had a different audience. Carson Daly left KHits around the same time, ostensibly to tend to his other entertainment projects and have more time with his family, but there might have been a cost-cutting factor in his leaving 97FM.

I loved this show, but my reason for not listening was when Allie came on. The constant annoying fake laughter was way too hard to handle , and I can’t be the only one that had the same reaction. There was plenty of that from everyone from time to time, but she was unbearable to me

Im a truck driver in los angeles so i would listen since 530 till 10. Sometimes i would be laughing so hard at a ralph but that i would have to pull over until i stopped laughing to avoid an accident. Going back to watch videos of my favorite morning show because I still can’t believe that KROQ & Entercom just cut them off so abruptly and at the WORST possible time. I’ve listened to KROQ since I was a kid in the 80’s, and to the morning show since I was a teen in the 90’s. I guess we should’ve seen this coming with the crappy way they cut Lisa May and then Ralph, but really?! A Hall of Fame show just let go with no regard? I am 100% done with KROQ. There is nothing they can say to defend this BS. It’s all just transparent PR. This show was the ONLY thing I still listened to on radio. Now I have more space on my phone without the radio.com app.

Very classy move by Ralph given the way the station treated him. It's crazy that Ralph was let go and then Jensen was brought on board. The show was better off being cancelled than limping on with that insufferable ass.
