I think he look like he’s in his 40s now. In this interview he sounds like a teen looks like he’s in his 20s. But I might be a little biased as I also come from the family of young looking. I’m 36 and always get carded when I buy beer ´cause they think I’m under 18. My older sisters are like that too. My mom was like that too. She always looked 20 years younger than she was and then around the age of 65, she suddenly aged really quickly as though she went 40 to 65 in one year, so it was a shock. Andrea Gomez: it’s more that it throws you off for a second, since they look older than they did in the movies, so their voice is something your brain goes to to see if they are “actually them”. I feel it’s more the facial features that give it away, like how in Cobra Kai you see Johnny’s Signature stare during the “You’re the best” montage from the original movie, and then Daniel’s shrug and look away when he sees Johnny in the restaurant during the date, that’s straight from when he checks out the Cobra Kai Dojo in the original for the first time and sees Johnny’s there too.

He definitely lost his accent since this video, and his voice is much higher now. He did musicals in the ‘90s. That’s when his voice starting getting higher-like an octave higher than when he was in karate kid.

I agree. When I was watching cobra kai I always though something was off about the way he spoke. In the Karate Kid series he had a much stronger accent even in flashbacks you could hear how distinct it was. Now he has more of a generalised American accent. Which isn’t a bad thing but it’s changed a lot
