MY JAW DROPPED after googling his age after he said he's got some years on Tyson! Had no idea he was on Broadway or could sing! He was my childhood crush because of Karate Kid, but always thought of him as a child star. He was quite old when he played Daniel-san! Still a fan!

So me being a huge Karate Kid/ Coldplay fan I knew of this song as soon as it came out. Being a big Mets/ Islanders fan I knew Daniel Macchio (Ralph’s son) through friends of friends who are also fans of my teams. I reached out to my friend Danielle who knows Daniel and I told her to tell him about the song. A day later she sends me back a text of Daniel Macchio saying how he thought the song was amazing and how it came as a huge surprise and he was going to show his dad. A day later Ralph posts about the song and then gets into contact with Coldplay to make a music video in Australia. I wasn’t sure if I started the chain of events but this video confirmed it thanks Jimmy!

This guy does NOT look like he's in his 60s - even his voice sounds young! I was a die-hard Karate Kid fan back in the 80s, so when Cobra Kai came out, I was nervous that the showrunners would ruin a good thing. Not so - they knocked it out of the park! It's probably one of very few shows that perfectly balances nostalgia with new material.

I'm so glad Ralph Macchio has finally received his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame : Long deserved indeed. There is something about Ralph Macchio's persona and demeanor that has always made him very likable, especially compared to many of his Hollywood contemporaries. Sure, we all like him in the 1984 'Karate Kid' movie, but when I hear his name, I think of his performance in the Francis Ford Coppola film the previous year 'The Outsiders' where he played Johnny Cade opposite a bunch of other unknown actors : Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez, and C. Thomas Howell. Johnny's final words right before succumbing to the burns he received saving children escape from that burning church : "Stay gold Ponyboy. Stay Gold."
