I love hearing a disscussion between titans of true change,as opposed to "1984"s "new-speak"-esque talk of so-called change,espoused by Two-face Obama.Wish Ralph Couldv'e SO massively overreached the popular vote,that ralph be swept into office..hypocritical mike moore said in '04 "PLEASE DROP OUT OF THE RACE RALPH..",AS IF Nadet somehow cost Gore the election;no my fellow americans,you have to remember Buchanin cost bush votes TOO.The electoral college elected bush votes too,and if nader got votes thats due to him being percieved a better candidate,and if mr.moore didnt want nader to run in 2004,then why in 2000 at a NADER ralley did he speak,saying ",,if ypu choose the lesser of two evils you STILL end up with EVIL..."-that is the moore opinion i agreed with.

i wish the US had a year of service the way some other countries do, or even how the Mormons do (without pushing your religion on other people, just helping them). maybe.... MAYBE people would get some kind of worldview. If i had millions of dollars I would live in each country for a year and try to see patterns and listen and learn and help countries the way they need, not the way the US military thinks they do.

A recent report by the World Wildlife Fund estimates that the amount of wildlife on the Earth has fallen 58% since 1970, and that by 2020 this number will likely be two-thirds. Tell that to anyone who still thinks that humans aren't doing any significant harm to our planet. As Bill Maher said, in this country it is often no longer a matter of left versus right, but of reality versus alternate reality.

Comfy Stump ASMR what do you mean? Ralph Nader said on his most recent interview with Democracy Now that he's contacted Sanders over the years and Sanders has never once gotten in touch with him, and Sanders has said the smear punchline that he'd never run as an independent because he doesn't want to be a spoiler like Nader which is untrue. as for Chomsky Sanders when he was mayor of Burlington,Vermont he did invite Chomsky to a town hall to speak, but I don't know if they've ever met since then but I do know both Chomsky and Nader expressed they hoped Bernie would be leader of the Democrats the only difference is Nader says vote for whomever, Chomsky says vote Clinton if you are in a Swing State, and don't let any Republican get into the white house.
@Yourismouter8 жыл бұрын
Comfy Stump ASMR all that being said hiliary a bitch, and shes going to be even more disappointing then when Obama was in power because she is a boring centrist and a neo-liberal not a flaming left winger or progressive. Sanders can try as he might, and still try to change the Democratic party, but I think all of the stuff WikiLeaks showed and proved what Dr.Jill Stein said that you can't have a revolution in a counter revolutionary party. I love Bernie and wow he is a much bigger man then me, because if I found out what the DNC did to me, I would never endorse Clinton but he did but don't expect Crooked Hilary to do anything remotely what Bernie and his supporters want.

Dear Workplace Democracy, Mr. Noam Chomsky, Mr. Ralph Nader, You know, listening to all this makes me wonder why we don't have established guidelines in our democracy designed not for government takeover by rebel rousers but all for our form of government? Debate with no contempted dual face force. Why would anyone, nevermind I know the reason. Democracy meaning equality for all hasn't attained such scope yet! We need similar idea to implement for the ones who don't want to be equal. It's basically the same for both when I mentioned about restoring our rights to return to equative normalicy by throwing the bums and I don't mean the british term in to jail for a 50 year stretch, no parole till sentence met! Confiscate monies to assist in equative measures and monitor those folks like they do us for influence. Anybody wanna bet that they have a plan if we slap them in jail? It will be as if they aren't, but that is the key which has been their downfall since their inception. Can we get them to work in restoring everything they so conveniently destroyed? Show them that part of equalness through their work efforts. How can we prevent their escape if they work outside their compound? Which means they are not re-democratized like they made the germans do after the same 1% made war. Same folks as in Mr. Jim Marrs books, a must read for all as we regain what they subvertly took from us. Thank you. Sincerely, Don Suiters 1229 N Saturn Ave Clearwater FL 33755-3663 USA I hope I said that right?

I am being a bit sarcastic, but one reason he has probably never been on the Sunday shows is he is a little bit long winded. He can take more than a minute to answer a question and the talk shows like short answers
@Jeddas8 жыл бұрын
Shows formatted in such a way that concision is necessary requires all discussion to take place within narratives already understood by the audience. Chomsky's answers would be so far removed from known narratives that concision would be impossible without making him look wacky.
If you (the general "you") want a short, brief, shallow, instantly-forgettable speech, you can watch TED Talks. If you want real and essential information, news and education to understand the world, well you have to listen or read for more than 15 minutes (and even 15 minute is "too long" for TED Talks!).

Well, the hero of this "interview" is Ralph Nader. His credentials should've been mentioned in the introduction, since Mr. Nader is just as distinguished, eloquent and well known intellectual who did a lot of work in the interests of the citizenry as an activist, political commentator and legal expert. He asked tough questions and professor Chomsky eluded for obvious reasons the real answers especially when asked why AIPAC has so much influence on congress. No amount of activism, writing to congressmen, etc. by the citizenry will change that and they both know it. Professor Chomsky's double talk reveals that he is becoming more irrelevant and ineffective in influencing political discourse.
@nikolademitri7316 жыл бұрын
youcanfoolmeonce it’s Ralph’s show (it’s a weekly radio/podcast show, you can listen to on any podcast app, or online), so they wouldn’t be mentioning his credentials. Chomsky is a guest on the show, hence his credentials being brought up. Of course, Ralph has been more directly effective and more relevant, as far as political activism is concerned. It would be ridiculous to disagree with that, but I do disagree with you on Chomsky. What about what he had to say was/is “double talk”? Chomsky is only less “relevant” than Ralph, if we’re talking direct effect, and that’s based on technique, and priority. Ralph has been able to be more effective for decades bc it’s been his life’s work; his primary, sole cause. That’s not the case with Chomsky. For decades, Chomsky was a scientist and an educator first, and a political activist second. Because his priorities were based in the university, his primary contribution to political activism for decades was giving speeches, and writing books. Chomsky has been retired for a few years now, and continues to do what he’s done for years. His approach never was, and isn’t, that of Ralph’s. Ralph is/was much more hands on, and had to connections and resources to effect real change, and put literally all his time into doing so. Another factor that’s allowed Ralph to be more effective than Chomsky is their political positions, and relationship with media. Ralph has inspired generations with his very active, hands on approach, and Chomsky has inspired generations with his more in the sideline cirques, speeches, and books. They’ve both made many people, mostly young people, conscious of the problems we face, and inspired them to take action. To compare them is to compare apples to oranges, though. They’ve taken different approaches to activism, and have faced very different challenges in an attempt to change consciousness. When I examine their lives, past and present, and take everything into consideration, I don’t get the point of your comment.
