I dig fresh chopped garlic and basil right after the sauce is applied. Any other toppings blanket the garlic/basil so they don’t burn - yeah man! The prototype for me is fresh mushroom (pre-sautéed), chovies and thin sliced onions over the garlic/basil.

My go to slice is a white clam pie, thin crust which most pizza places don’t make. If you get a chance go to Lee’s Tavern in Staten Island, NY. You won’t be disappointed.

Good quality anchovies are not very salty. They are a beige colored fish and add a hint of fish-umame-salt to a dish. That's why they are also so good in spinach/egg/nicoise salad. Pizzarias that are worth vistiting still offer them.

My go-to is the cheese slice, because if they can make those simple ingredients shine, most likely they can make more to other toppings shine. But one thing it surely does, it exposes their quality of ingredients and execution, of the sauce (herbs/spices), the crust, and the cheese, and if it is low grade, it's really obvious.

That looks great! I love thin-crust, tavern style pizza. My go to in Chicago for tavern style is Vito's and Nicks, Italian Beef pizza with Hot Giardiniera! It takes care of both my Chicago pizza and Italian beef craving in one shot.

Crispy pizza is my thing. The crunch only seems to be the crust on these pizza's. Too many toppings can ruin a pizza and make it soggy!! Too much flop!!

I've gone there for the Margarita Pie and Plain cheese. I love Ralph's, definitely in my top 3 NJ. You have to try Pizza One in Wayne, and Saprito in Mountainside NJ.

Mushrooms roasted peppers and sausage 😋. I live in Belleville. I am ordering from Ralph’s this week! I hit Ralph’s yesterday. Their house garlic bread with a side of broccoli rabe is my new favorite dish. So yummy!! Eggplant parm is the bomb too! I am in love ❤️

Sausage n Mush is my go to slice. Ralph's is excellent but there is a spot down the street Ritacco Bros that is outstanding. Both places make my top 25 in the NYC/NJ/CT/PA region. If you like Sicilian go hit Brunos in Clifton!

JL , YOUR TRULY A FOODY GLOBETROTTER I like that, that pizza 🍕 over there at nuttenly New Jersey did look good but the only thing that was crispy and crunchy was the crust on the edge . Those slices that you were downing were soggy in order for the pizza 🍕 to be crisp they need to bake it on those ventilation plates for pizza 🍕. Much love and respect. 🤓🕊
