I met Ralph in person 2x. In Athens, GA was the last concert I saw with him. He was the goofiest dude you'd ever meet. Just cutting up, an ol rascal. Funny funny. He enjoyed every second of life it seemed. His band was the same way. Happy people who liked to play and have fun.

I met the man after midnight in a truckstop in Waddy, KY. I'd just pulled in to this truckstop--43 mile east of Louisville, tired,need to eat before going to bed. Chairs were upside down on the tables. I came in and sat down. I got served food anyway. I looked up and saw this gentleman in a white hat. He nodded to me. Directly to my left by the narrow aisle, sat his bus driver. We all looked at each other. Nothing said. I ate, Ralph finished eating I was finished eating. We got up and met. I told eem I always listened to him and his brother, Carter, since I was 15 year old. We shook hands. I said, "Mr. Stanley, please sing as long as you can!" He said, "I will, ma'am." And he tipped his hat. We parted ways. I didn't ask for an autograph. I thought he gets enough of that. He was 74 year old then. He lived to be 89. I sing and Play their songs on my guitar today. In my house I don't want the attention.😊 e o ut &

"You had to have that pride... But..uh, it was awful hard to live off that pride!" "SURE WAS!.." 😆👍🏼✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼 STANLEY BROTHERS ARE MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME!!! I DON'T FEEL ANXIOUS LISTENING TO THEM. MATTER OF FACT THEY BRING ME PEACE WHEN I DO LISTEN! THEY PLAY ALMOST ALL GOSPEL AND HYMNAL TYPE MUSIC ABOUT FAMILY AND GOD AND JESUS AND THE ANGEL BAND THAT PLAYS UP THERE IN HEAVEN FOR GOD! THEIR MUSIC COUNTS FOR SOMETHING IN THOSE WAYS, WHERE MOST ALL OTHER MUSIC OF THE WORLD DOES NOT AT ALL COUNT FOR ANYTHING GOOD REALLY TRULY WHEN YOU ARE HONEST ABOUT IT!!! 👍🏼✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼😉😇🥳

Stanley Brothers had the best sound of any music in the world..they could make you laugh and dance....or they could make you cry..nothing like them..once in a life time.

Bill Monroe wouldn't have made it if it wasn't for Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs
@bluegrassman30404 ай бұрын
@@ChiefBowelshe already made it before they were in his band. They just changed the sound of his group.
