That "why" bit, I'm not a parent, but my sister and nephew lived with me for a year and he slipped on the stairs going down to the basement where she sleeps (full finished basement that was already set up to be a studio apartment) she was in the bathroom which he didn't know and wanted to see mommy. So he slips and I hear that scream since he got pretty badly hurt, I make it through the house in about 10 strides in a dead sprint and maybe hit 4 stairs out of 25, I make sure his head isn't injured, and she screams what happened. I yell back to grab the hydrogen peroxide, gauss, paper tape, and Neosporin and she asked why and came down without anything then goes and gets it because I have herniated discs and couldn't get back up the stairs from how intense I was getting to him. So she does and we doctor him up because he split his calf open catching a loose screw in the stairs, and she got mad at me for yelling at her and not saying what was wrong the whole time I'm consoling him. That day everyone learned when I say things as an order it gets done no questions asked. I always ask politely if someone will do something for me so it boggles my mind that when I'm proven to be right and fully justified being a commanding asshole it's important enough to ask questions after the order is complete. Side note we did have to take him to the emergency room and he needed 3 stitches, no scar thank God, but the doctor was impressed how the wound was handled and taken care of. Even his dad, who we hate each other, now knows if it is in regards to that boy and I make an order, you follow it or you may get chewed out to the point of tears which I left him in twice for that shit. Uncle Ben is the best. On that Ralphie May is still one of my favorite comics, showing his stand up to friends who don't watch stand up fall in love when I show them this man. My mom loves his work, my grandma even thinks he is funny even though "he swears too much for me but is still funny" and when he passed I was devastated. You are still loved and missed big man, much love, rest easy, you deserve it
