In this video I will give you tips on replacing the starter on a 2006 Impala LT 3.9L This also applies to any year in this generation of the Impala.
I wish I could have gotten more in depth with this but I was changing it on the ground on my back. Because of that I had a very limited use of my cell phone which I was using to record this footage.

Wow Rob that's great that didn't look too impossible but doing any kind of work on your back is never fun that was the diesel technician for 15 years I got lots of years on my back and it sucks I always hated hated it but the last job I worked had a pit and oh my god the pit was totally awesome he could stand and do things everything was it seemed easier to me I even brought my car and did oil changes over the pit. But thank you for sharing this with us I think you did a wonderful job you did it right in my opinion you cleaned everything up you wore safety glasses which is smart and you disconnected the battery you would not believe how many people don't do it that is just insane but you did it right and now it works in your car is good to go I got a 2001 Grand Prix little older than yours and it's pretty much the same underneath as yours where the starters located 3.8 l V6 so anyway thanks for sharing that little bit rare little bit different video than trains but I got to say it was cool that you got 10Z again.

Thanks man I really appreciate it.. I'm off to bed after a very long day and a lot of thinking. A change is coming in my life soon. That video was actually recorded earlier in the summer but I was reluctant on posting it because I feel like I complained a lot during the recording plus I wasn't able to get the in depth footage I wanted to because I couldn't raise the car up in the air so I could actually stand up... Yeah me as well my friend. You could probably here the frustration in my voice while doing this job. I wasn't going to post it because of that reason but I figured it might be able to help someone out. My starter went right in my driveway so I kind of didn't have a choice but to fix it myself.. I could have called a rollback in to take it to a garage but that would have been way more expensive 💸💰
