Near vehicles with the 8.4 Uconnect stereo like in my 2016 ram 1500 has the PIN number in the radio under system information.. much easier than pulling pin or going to the dealership

Hey, thanks for the video. I tried to program my fobik on my 2018 Ram 1500 Tradesman, the key starts the truck but the lock and unlock features don't work. I try to program that alone and I got an error code saying:'' Failed. The ECU detected that the request contains parameter(s) with value(s) outside allowable range.'' Do you have any idea how to pass that?

Wrong year key 2018 and up are different keys than the 2013 to 2017 and 2009 to 2012 keys

great video. ill be coming back to this soon. im installing a factory remote start soon as well and need to program new fobs as well. before i do that, would i be able to do all that and still try to program the new fob after as well or fobs first and then add remote start?

You can program or "sync" it to you dash module now and later, but each module can only store 10 keys in the memory don't go over that and your good.

Hey my alfaobd isn’t showing anything beyond just “program key or ignition key” nothing about different levels of fobs. It only seems to test it but nothing else happens, i did get the pin but that’s it. What do I do? Edit: I bought the OBDLink MX+ and still nothing besides program key or ignition key which only allows me to program the key to start the truck but no remote functions.

Is it the right key fob I did a guy's key and he got the wrong key model number so it did the same thing. It was for the wrong year truck I think he said. He got another key and I fixed it.

Probably because its switched to your tablet ? can you use alfaobd in 2 devices at the same time? I read somewhere where is mentioned thats when you switch to a different device you have to deactivated first and than switch.

I figured it out later on but I want people to see that things don't work the way we expect so we have to overcome the issue and continue. Anyways I have the obdlink ex cable for using forscan and it worked perfectly for this also along with bmw software. The laptop is just old with alot of issues I tried to make it something that it was not.

Can you use obdlink EX with alfaobd ? I have a dodge grand caravan I tried it but wont connect so I had to send it back and ordered obdlink mx+. Do u know?

You can just add a key I get them from Amazon or ebay if I need a quick fix when the contactor comes loose inside the and the buttons get unresponsive so I overnight a cheap one while waiting for an oem key

I wonder. Has anyone tried this method with the Vlink MC+ instead of the Obdlink MX+ ? I know AlfaOBD website says the Vlink MC+ works with Alfaobd in general. But it doesn't say if the key fob programming feature superficially, will work with Vlink MC+. I mean it also doesn't specifically say the Obdlink MX+ works with the key feature either. If anyone has done this with the Vlink MC, I'd appreciate it if you could confirm it works. Thanks

@@rameezm23 I ended up just ordering it too and I just tried the Key Fob Programming. And I can confirm that the *Vgate vLinker MC+* does in fact work. I just programmed an extra Fob. I didn't try to mess with anything else yet. So I don't know if it will do absolutely everything that the OBDLink MX+ is capable of. But the vLinker MC+ can definitely program fobs for sure !

The dealership will give it to you if you call them or I use the pin puller app when I do it for people since I can do it anytime not just when the dealership is open

The alfaobd app is not free and the pin puller is free for the first time pulling your pin and it will work on 2018 but you will need the security bypass cable to do it

Can you use the alfaobd to install and program a new WIN module? Mines a 2012 and the module is shot.

If I'm not mistaken you can change it and then program a key so the win and frequency hub communicate properly with the new key.

Dealer claims only bind 8 keys if cheap $10 key fails after a year that uses up one binded key no way to remove old keys. Once the 8 is used up then have to replace some module not sure how expensive that is. Something to keep in mind not sure if dealer is right or not that what they said.

There is a clear all option that will delete all the keys in the rf hub so if they are cheap and keep getting more eventually you can delete them all and move forward with adding a new key or keys

I see that you put the key in lock position? Or it need to be in run position before you put the pin and hit start ? Mine said run position? Im still having trouble programming my key fob (2010 dodge grand caravan ) driving me crazy . Also i see that some alfaobd have too many selections to choose from and some doesn’t?? Like Read pin……

Call the dealership give them your vin and they will give it to you, or there's a chrysler pin puller app you can get for your phone or tablet whatever you are using and it will get the pin for that vehicle. Sorry I forgot to mention that in the video.
