When you look at Karnataka, the formation of Karnataka is not similar to the other southern states. It was formed by amalgamation of different provinces, 'The Mumbai Presidency and the Madras Presidency', the Mysore State and the Nizam ruled Karnataka. With the influx of all cultures, it is pluralistic. It might be a reason why Karnataka politics is different from the other southern states. The cultural influences becomes an easy task for BJP to actually look at it as an experiment that works according to their plan.

When the British ruled India, India's population was around 320 million - about 5 times that of Britain today.
