modesty is so expensive nowadays. i want to have a whole wardrobe full of abayas and jilbabs inshallah .

It’s really not. My first jilbab I sewed out of a bedsheet, my abayas as well.. Yes, if you want to have quality pieces that weren’t made by child labor and slavery you have to pay a fair price. We tend to over-consume, don’t have sabr and want to have everything at once. Just save up for your important pieces and try to learn how to sew yourself, if you don’t want to save up or can’t ☺️ Modesty means minimalism. Modest clothes aren’t beautified but simple and easy ☺️ Allah swt didn’t make it hard for us to obey him, it’s our desires that make it hard for us. These pieces I showed are luxury pieces, not necessarily meant for the daily basis but for special occasions like a wedding, Eid or similar. Of course we have to pay those who pick the cotton, make and dye the fabric, see it together, sells it and delivers. I think the problem nowadays is that we’re so used to slavery that we think fair payment is unfair 🥲
