Ramakrishnan Murthy: Raga Bhairavi - Part 2 - Pallavi

Raga Bhairavi was the centrepiece of Ramakrishnan Murthy's performance at the FEA-curated A SOUTHERN TURN concert.
Stellar performances by his accompanists, RK Shriramkumar on violin, Manoj Siva on mridangam and BS Purushotham on kanjira were also on display.

Absolutely blissful, outstanding, technically spot on, tactful and enjoyable singing by Vidwan Ramakrishnan sir... Very clever choice of ragas for Pallavi, Bhairavi, Poorvikalyani, Kedaram, Ananda Bhairavi and Amruthavarshini, all "ananda" ragas (although Poorvikalyani not sure) I loved the parts where he tuned ananda natana prakasham as the original Muthuswamy Dikshitar composition in Kedaram And the part where he seamlessly sings Ananda Bhairavi, a very brave move to sing such an allied raga of Bhairavi... The raga and tanam was an example of how to sing Bhairavi..
