Excellent video. At 10:36 you said ''So we need to come into alignment with that [undifferentiated consciousness/ Atman] to free ourselves from the prison of the identity - the ego - the sense of self. And it is a prison.'' But I believe it's perfectly ok to be living our physical lives with the perspective that we are this limited identity or persona. I get that on a deeper level, the physical world is maybe an illusion, and the one Atman consciousness is who we really are. But we chose to step out of that for a while and be incarnated into this dimension. We all chose to forget who we are so that we can fully engage in this physical experience. It's like a fabulous computer generated game. It's not some hideous malfunction of the Universe that we are here. It's a precious opportunity to be on this magnificent planet, at this marvellous time. As we live our lives, experience pain, and develop deeper love and compassion, etc, the Universal Oneness GROWS. It's all good. If some people experience Cosmic Consciousness whilst still in their physical body, well good for them. But surely there is no urgent ''need to free ourselves from the prison of identity''. We come from God/ Oneness whatever, and after our stay on this planet we will return. In the meantime lets just enjoy the opportunity here, and make the most of it. Enjoy some chocolate, and watch a movie. Value this life.

Yes, one time. I was around 10 on a sunny, summer day. I laid on the lawn next to my house, on my back, on a sunny afternoon, a few clouds but mostly blue sky. A huge oak tree stood on the right side of my field of vision and the side of my house stood on the left side. Without warning, I instantly realized as I stared into the sky that all is one, there is no future or past, there is no forward or backward, there is only being and we live in a unified state of existence with all - everything. I would say that is the only true spiritual realization I have had in my entire life. It wasn't just a feeling; it was either a realization or revelation.

Yes, I think experiencing that nothingness must be innate as I too have had the experience. There is nothing exceptional about me. Growing up I think it was hinting as an experience in my sense of groundedness. The stillness of that sense of groundedness resembles an awareness of something like an “essence” that has no form but has a very strong presence. I think searching for this “reality” is ego driven. I don’t think this is how you get to the experience. You just need to be calm and then you find that it is there. It isn’t somewhere else. Being “calm” does not mean that you are free of thoughts. While within that experience, my mind is fully active, analysing the experience and regular human thoughts. There is an awareness that there is no need or desire to return to your normal life because this state is what it is all about. That state has no qualities except that you know it is limitless. There is no sense that there is a God or it is a heaven type place. It is just a void that you can definitely experience that is completely fulfilling. There is no desire for anything else. In comparison, human life experiences are very structured, cluttered and chaotic. Coming out of that experience just happens naturally also. I don’t know how you get yourself there or how you come out of that experience. It just happens. I’m sure it is there for everyone to experience. My link to that experience may be through Vipassana meditation. In Vipassana, you learn to be hyper-aware of the physical sensations in your body, and when in that state of “groundedness” in your daily life, you are also conscious of sometimes being hyper-aware. Maybe there is a link to Vipassana? I truly don’t know how it happens.

There is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, just the ever present now in which all things are equal. Ramana Maharshi was a great man but also a very ordinary man resting in the the realisation of oneness. If you have destabilised anyone Jason it's because they live on the shakey ground of the jiva. Undermining self and replacing with Self is a noble endeavour. Keep up the good work in the knowledge that there is nothing to be done.🙏

Seems like your statement is contradictory philosophy has some holes you know people watch this video because they have suffered in this world and there can never be a one final solution for all of this video is great though its a message that we are here not by our will and all world is an illusion. World is a manifestation of brahman in the mirror of the mind. And while brahman is non-dual world displays multiplicity but sticking with duality doesn't allow us to be aware of self that is nitya . So the world as it is we cant live in this world without duality when with the world while within the world we have a self thus and for that awareness comes when we are with ourselves.

I had my crisis almost 50 years ago when I was 17 and found Ramana and Osho and attempted suicide. I am basically gone. Ego is not gone but ego no longer dares to ask me to take ego seriously. I am surprised how something as stupid and shallow as ego can have so much power over people but I have to try to remember how traumatic and almost deadly my uncovering of ego’s dirty little secrets was for me. There is no higher or lower but law and order is mostly a good thing that should not be sabotaged by knowing more truth. Know truth but protect people. If people have a problem with what Ramana said then they are protecting ego. Ego is not worth protecting.

For many enlightened beings, there are often more subtle layers than im just here, the end. There are often still deeper and changing relations with the moment as well as uncovering trauma which can hide within the present calm, isness; for the human aspect, there is a natural story that unfolds with or without effort. My master said it very well imo.. hold all things lightly.. there appear to be no end to the mysteries.. In a nutshell, be present and done yes, but not so done that you cant shake your booty joyfully or whatever at the drop of a coin compared to any playful human on earth.

Funny thing that is... Been there kind of beeing enlightened and just living as a mere jar for a universal beeing... Experiencing the manifestation of thoughts and truth within myself was amazing but just loosing oneself within what seems to be also feels like dying. Its the ultimate beeing unbound, but if all conscious thought is not one(self), one ceases to be. So one is bound to stop existing (not being one) or tumbling back down to the ego (beeing one) As our body exists, one naturally chooses to be one, rather than not being. Its as everything a balancing act of dialectic. Learning to control which state to access unbalancees chance and innocence. So meditation and such eventually gets you away from balance of beeing and achieving, of preserving and creating. If you learn beeing and becoming you then need to learn choosing and letting go, and then you need to learn right or wrong, then you and all other, then back to being one with all or oneself. One can reach everything but nothing at the same time on this path. This path is as good or bad as any other in life. It will lead and last your whole life as will every other path. Life and nonexistence dont discriminate, you do even if you don't cause you will alter the path of others in any way.

there is no path brother, and no guru who can teach it to you, there is only what you can inquire about for yourself within As to whether this man had a violent past and whether that impacts on him as a teacher, it really doesn't matter and you would be missing the point if you think it did. Just as you can't step in the same river twice, there isn't really a past that a person has, that's the whole point, but I know what you are trying to say I have a violent past, I have hurt many people with my words and actions, I have been hateful, bitter etc. We all have, no one alive can say that they have not. Does that mean none of us have anything to teach then? If there is one man alive that has been truly been perfect, I suppose they would have no more to learn, can you say this about yourself? however, one who is awake realises there is no one with a past, and that none of that matters. There is only this, right now, and it's constantly changing. There is no constant 'person' that exists that carries around this 'past' with them. We are all just this, everything is, right now. This is basis for true acceptance, forgiveness, compassion etc. If you are wondering, I don't follow this guy or any spiritual path, I just clicked on this video and read your comment.

Great presentation, Jason. Just one comment. You are talking here of “Brahm,” not “Brahma.” Brahm is the Universal Consiousness (the One and Only). On the other hand, Brahma refers to the creator in the holy Trinity that created our Universe under the influence of the Maha-Vishnu (or Krishna). Hinduism believes in many Universes created thru Maya, each with its own Brahma. To sum up, Brahm is the Supreme One and Only, while Brahma is a Demi-God under Brahm.

Sir asked people did anyone got that state? How can anybody says and what the need to say that someone got that state. Because if anybody says I have reached that state, maybe he speaks Truth or nor, but after all it becomes a lie because'' mentioning ''I'' have reached in the sentence, the ''I'' is "Ego'' still remains in that person, and with "Ego'' no one can attain the ''ultimate reality'' When Truth appears I dissolves , there is only TRUTH The Real Self. If anybody says I have reached, that's mean he is not.

The thing I can not agree with in Eastern religions is the negative view of either the material world or our experience of it, that basicly everything is illusion. And this is the main thing that keeps me in Christian faith. The material world isn't wrong, your experience of 'I' is a reality not an illusion. You are unique or your I is real, your experience of creation as with begin and end and that is fine. You can talk about in that way. But than also what the Christians do is say, indeed God is non-dual, God is everything and everywhere and is the most fundamental and always was there and will be there. It beautifully represented in the doctrine of Christ: Fully God, fully Man. A full Individual yet also fully non-dual. Meaning Christians understand themselves as fully united with the cosmic soup where no separation is and by that no individual, this is where the Eastern religions agree. But yet still fully united as an Individual, and this is what the Eastern religions seem to deny.

30 years ago, at age 40, I was quite unexpectedly gifted with a glimpse of being. The world and my person were dissolved in a "white" light of all colors going all directions at once. I was in that light. I was that light. My person and the world had been mere projections like a dream or a movie. No real reality to them. Then my person came back and suddenly I was back in the world ( waiting for a table in a restaurant!). My " spiritual seeking" became a pleasant pastime after that, no longer a grasping, neurotic mess. I will say that the one constant of my previous years of seeking had been an ardent desire to know the truth just once.

This is a very helpful explanation, I wonder why it took me so long to understand . I came to your video after watching Eckart Tolle say that the personality acts as a barrier a closed door to the self. It has helped me to realise that all of my spiritual striving and self improvement was only necessary to actually break down my personality! It’s ironic really and rather beautiful, I didn’t need to become better to reach God but all of my suffering did help to melt and wash away false self. Not that I’m egoless yet but I do feel incredibly lighter and can look on my life with a sense of humour , I don’t take myself so seriously now.

Please read this ... Okay so when we are stating teachings of saints (or scriptures), the correct way is to quote it, and then explain it, especially for deeper topics. This way there is a line between what has been said and how we are interpreting it. We should avoid mixing our own words into saints teachings. Absolutely disagree where he is implying that we can simply talk or understand ourselves into enlightenment. This would be just be a belief (although with confidence), not an experiential reality for 99.99% of the people. It requires rigorous sadhana to purify and calm ourselves to the point of actually experiencing “Aham Brahmasmi” - Sanskrit phrase that means “I am Brahman”. Here are the qualities of an enlightened person according to the Bhagwad Geeta: 1) 2.55: The Supreme Lord said: O Parth, when one discards all selfish desires and cravings of the senses that torment the mind, and becomes satisfied in the realization of the self, such a person is said to be transcendentally situated. 2) 2.56: One whose mind remains undisturbed amidst misery, who does not crave for pleasure, and who is free from attachment, fear, and anger, is called a sage of steady wisdom. 3) 2.57: One who remains unattached under all conditions, and is neither delighted by good fortune nor dejected by tribulation, he is a sage with perfect knowledge. 4) 2.58: One who is able to withdraw the senses from their objects, just as a tortoise withdraws its limbs into its shell, is established in divine wisdom. (Such a person can "medically" die and come back alive at will, absolute mastery over mind-body. ) Englightened beings have all the above qualities. Therefore I think one can't simply talk themselves into enlightenement. Read this to understand Ramana Maharshi's pov: www.quora.com/Why-did-Ramana-Maharshi-say-that-no-sadhana-is-needed-for-liberation/answer/Siddharth-T-Janakiraman Thanks😁
