Is this really a surprise to anyone? Kiriko was also in the battle pass at the same tier and was only given to OW1 players and premium bp owners immediately. Blizzard even stated that future heroes would also be in the battle pass and that OW1 players getting it immediately was a one off

@@alyrafsanjani6928 I’m pretty sure once the battle pass ends and you don’t have the hero unlocked, you have to complete challenges to unlock them, sorta in the fashion of unlocking all the other hero’s through playing a certain amount of games.

Yeah he's a part of the free pass that you have to put NEARLY 50 HOURS IN to get to lv55, which most people don't have time to do.

It's making players buy out of frustration. Don't tell me your with blizzard on this. Most players would see ramattra locked at 55, then be like "ugh, do I really wanna spend 2 weeks to grind for this hero, or should I buy the battle pass for 10 dollars. Screw it, I wanna play ramattra" It's a petty tactic. They could've done it level 20, sure, but they wanna force people to buy the battle pass which doesn't even give you the overwatch coins back and is literally valueless if you don't play the hero with the mythic skin. It's filled with garbage like souvenirs and voicelines, and there is simply no other progression systems to grind for in the game.

i mean i should also state that this is coming from the mind of a grinder who grinded their way to lvl 55 within a week. so please stop saying that im with blizzard on their monetization methods, although some of their monetization is a bit questionable the hero in the battlepass is FREE which means if you buy the battlepass out of frustration that just shows that YOU yourself have a weak will instead of just playing the game and being patient.

Someone has never had a job, ok r tard let me dumb it down, so for ow1 players they got kiriko immediately however this hero is going to be different and you will have to PAY (emphasis on the pay part) using time and grinding to unlock the new hero

I don't see this as a problem. I didn't pay for season one battle pass and just by doing daily challenges you get to level 80 EASILY before the end of the season

Not to be a blizzard defender, cause I do hate most of the changes they made (including this) But it is free. You are wording it like it's not. I just started grinding season 1s battle pass about a week or two ago and I'm rank 50. And I only run about 1-5 matches a day. I'd rather folks make a tiff about the insane prices for buying the cosmetics outright and the fact that loot boxes are completely gone. I'd like to see loot boxes return to some degree, not in a purchasable state, but maybe as say a free battle pass reward every 5 or 15 levels or something. The level 55 FREE character unlock on the battle pass is kinda minor IMO but go off I guess.

Idk. I do think 55 is a little extreme but i do like that it’s in the battle pass. I feel like they should make it unlockable earlier but keep the 2 weeks of no comp for him. At the very least sticking him so far into the pass shows that you are playing the game a fair enough amount which means you won’t run into as many entirely clueless ramattras in comp like there has been of kiriko. It’s a bit of a weird approach for overwatch but it could work. We haven’t really seen enough yet with how well this will go. They are probably trying to make something similar to the valorant agent unlock method

Just like how some of them(characters) are already for new players. I'm pretty much convinced that they're going to make them worth the same as the battle pass and that's far from fair.

how is it a paywall if you get the hero for free by just playing? is not that hard to complete the battle pass to be honest, some friends have completed it in less than a week, just playing a few matches in the support role and doing the task, remember the game is f2p now

well,here goes a another month wasted just to unlock this character,going to level 55 varies on what skill you have or what your team is,i think Ramattra should be at least somewhere between level 25-35 because from the personal view new players who dosen't know that character will be instantly demolished by those who mastered him

Basically like siege. Nothing new really. They been putting the new character in the battle pass as well. Different is, Both have the thing that if yu buy the battle pass you'll get the character for free n anything that was lock... But getting for free in tier 55... siege doesnt have tht. You would of have to pay like.... 200k renowns ect. But also i have kirito fo free even without buyin the battle pass and im only like tier 23.... idk if its a bug but i was playin with her today.

owners of overwatch 1 got kiriko for free , all future upcoming heroes you either unlock through free pass 55 or buying the battle pass , also if you didnt complete a battle pass the hero will be in the shop for overwatch coins , nobody ever said you can do `hero challenge` to unlock them if you didnt complete the pass in time , blizzard stated this in theyre own post , all missed heroes you gotta pay up for to unlock them afterwards if you couldnt complete the pass , cheap tactic which forces people into STILL having to buy the battle pass even if you went full f2p after the season ended ,

@@nailinthefashion what you're saying isn't true, when you're platinum and well the guys you play with too, they have roughly the same game sence and a pool of characters that they master otherwise they wouldn't be at this elo, and when a character like Kiriko is able to cancel almost everything with his ability and neither of your two healers are there while in front, the opposing team has an advantage, and therefore a pay to win. starting to accept this kind of practice is a bad thing, if not what will prevent Blizzard from later making new heroes accessible only if you have the battle pass. Its games become a scam, it is better to get high than to let it get high.

Player retention was really bad in OW1 btwn hero drops, so they need a way to ensure players will commit to at least a few dozen matches to make it worth it for them. I'm not sure why entitlement is getting so wildly out of hand, but I can only control my own actions. I'll enjoy the game regardless. You're only talking about Plat and above. Do you think most of the playerbase is at or above that threshold? They base the hero balance from the top down, but not the marketing, or Genji wouldn't have gotten nerfed. You're assuming a lot 🤷🏾‍♂️ and again: it's more common for people to play who they want and not what the situation needs. And to Kiriko being necessary: you're talking about a vacuum where in they actually land all their shots and abilities. With that mindset, even Mercy is viable despite being objectively the worst support at the moment. Why play Kiriko if their Ana saves nade for the right time in the fight, after suzu? I get what you mean, I see why you'd think these things, but ultimately they aren't based in what most people experience, just you or a subset of the playerbase.
