Honestly I think it's because ant colonies are akin to omnium. Individuals making up a whole, and uniting when there's a threat against them. It's what caused the Omnic Crisis. And like Ants who make way into the homes of people, they see only one source: eradication.

@@REALGOODCOMMSI’m sorry, but being a nerdy scientist that tried to harness the power of a black hole and failed, having his mind shattered is good and all, but not enough. That’s pretty much all of Sigma’s lore. That he was a scientist, was obsessed with black holes, had his mind split apart by one blah blah blah. That is literally it. Don’t get me wrong, Sigma’s lore is great and all, but slightly overrated imo. Ramattra has a much more in-depth lore and more character development. We know Ramattra’s history, his past present and future, what led him down the path in which he is now. Sigma on the other hand? Not so much. He’s a constant. He barely has any character development aside from Moira’s experiments apparently worsening his mental state, and even that is rather weak for character development, if it could even be considered that in the first place.

Spent most of his life following the other omnics in search if ‘peace’, while watching all his other ‘brothers’ and ‘sisters’ die by the hands of humans every single day, until he could not stand and watch anymore. Later created Null Sector and is now on the quest to ‘free’ all omnics and the world from humankind. (Additional information: Is ‘best friends/brother’ with Zenyatta, another omnic who definitely disagrees with him on the way he’s going about things and the moment they confront each other will most likely change their view of the other and could even change the course of their relationship.) Sigma: Scientist obsessed with black holes. Tried to experiment on one and his mind was shattered, leaving him with a split personality. Is now being manipulated and experimented on by Talon, while having absolutely no idea what is going on. (Additional information: Likes to hum….and also likes music….that’s pretty much it.) There is no denying that Sigma’s lore is interesting, but him just being a powerful individual with a split personality does not make his lore astronomically good or ‘the best one in the game’, it just doesn’t.

@@thawingkarma233ramattra has a lot of emotional development, you can see what lead him to feel and act certain ways. It definitely makes you feel closer to him as a character than sigma. Although I will say sigma as a character presents us with a lot more questions and answers about how the world of overwatch works. He has spoken to the Iris, hears a melody that has to do with the universe, and got gravity manipulation powers from just understanding this world to begin with. That’s pretty cool, as it hints at OW taking place in a universe much more fantastical than ours, and beyond that, Sigma also extremely sympathetic, not in his motivations, but as a character. Seeing him slipping and seeing how the different characters interact with him, it’s really a great way to characterize others. I would’ve never guessed that sombra who takes advantage of everyone else would be kind and caring to him.

The guy’s reply above concerning which character’s lore is ‘the best’ was only “Sigma beats him, but close.” like….??? Ok just because a character is powerful, has a split personality and all does not mean it is the greatest lore of all time. There is barely (if any) character development with Sigma, and I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. No one, and I mean NO ONE is saying Sigma’s lore is bad, but to say it is the game’s *BEST* just ‘because’ does not make sense to me.

He was created by Anubis specifically for the war against humans. This is why he hated Anubis more than the humans and wanted it destoryed.

True story, I'm a veteran, and I've been struggling with mental health issues for a long time. I quoted Ramattra once when my older brother, who is also a veteran, asked me what was wrong. His exact question was, "Hey, little bro, are you doing okay? I've noticed you've been pretty down recently." You can imagine my response. He recognized it, and we finished the full interaction. It made me smile that day.

His first interaction with Zen is my favorite. It shows how he knows that that omnics are going extinct, somehow content with their lives and that they follow human orders. Not really depressing but I do like his Pharah interactions. The armor one was really well written and I liked how he got defensive when she was probably just trolling him a bit.
