Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
As weekend was too rainy and I was too lazy to go outside. To regain walking time I decided to do it after work. One of viewers suggested Yoshiwara which is not that far from usual way home. So I started from Iriya station near Ueno and walked to the east. I found were shrines still opened this time with nice lights. So I walked to east till reached Sumida river with Skytree tower on opposite side.

Time 10/02 8:30pm
Filmed in UltraHD 4K 60p with Lumix GH5 camera, 8-18 f2.8-4 lens, Beholder EC1 stabilizer and Audio-Technica AT9946CM mic.
Feel free to correct my English or suggest a video to film.

Thank you so much for being my legs and enabling me to walk through your beautiful city. I am a young woman but I cannot walk due to a car accident 5 years ago. I was a dancer and felt as though my life was over. But the internet opened my eyes to such courageous, positive people and taught me a new way to look at life. These videos mean so much to me. I had always dreamed of going to Japan and now I have the next best thing. I have so much respect for your wonderful culture. Thank you again. XXXX

19:40 You can see the corner where the yellow flowers are offered in the two vase. This is a cenotaph for young girls. It was on September 1, 1923. Yoshiwara had many young prostitutes that day as well. The unhappy daughters sold by her parents to the procurer in Yoshiwara because of the suffering of poverty. On that day, a large-scale fire broke out following the Great Kanto Earthquake that struck the Kanto district including Tokyo. It seems that there was only one exit from Yoshiwara. But the gate was mercilessly closed. The reason is to prevent them from using this confusion and running away. And they could not escape the scorching hell and jumped into Yoshiwara's pond. As a result, 490 girls drowned.

Ah! My favorite area to stay in Tokyo ...on the cheap. In fact, four times out of my 12 visits to Japan in the past 17 years. Three times near Minami Senju: The New Koyo Hotel once and the Juyoh Hotel twice, and then once right in the middle of Yoshiwara at the Soho Asakusa. A lot of activity all night long there, around the "snack bars" and what appears to be soaplands (don't know for sure, never went in, despite the guys standing out front saying "Dozo" and motioning for me to enter). One evening, coming back tired from a day of playing tourist, I walked right into the middle of a big annual festival: the "rake festival" is what I called it, but it is actually the "Tori-no-ichi Fair." Really cool! I forgot how exhausted I was and walked through the whole thing. I ended up buying a little decorated bamboo rake to rake in some good luck! The big, elaborately decorated ones go for hundreds of dollars, but you get a round of that traditional Japanese hand-clapping when it is presented to you. BTW, there are videos on YT of the festival, if you're interested.
