I'm glad you liked these songs Debs... but Everly Brothers? Which song was that? Tbh, Gene Vincent was before my time too, but it was one of the songs in Dad's record collection... (which, strangely enough, I always used to think of as Mum's record collection!) So I've loved it since I was knee-high to a grasshopper! "Spirit in the Sky", as I said in the video, was No. 1 in the UK charts the day they landed the first man on the moon... And the Kinks' 'Apeman' was released in November 1970. I seem to remember Gareth liking all of these songs, too!

@@debs900 Bizarre... I don't remember the Everlys covering that song ever. I know Gene Vincent's version was in Dad's record collection 'cause it was one of many favourites in that collection. '57 sounds very early to be doing 'remasters' too... Oh well! Nobody tells me anything! 😉

@@debs900 Well, I just googled and discovered that you're quite correct that the Everlys DID indeed cover 'Be-Bop-a-Lula'. However, you were out by one year, they recorded it on their debut album in 1958, not '57... and that was only 2 years after Gene Vincent recorded it. Oh well... one lives and learns... 😉

Well, I've heard a few versions of this now... The original, which I HIGHLY recommend, was written and recorded by Norman Greenbaum... It was said about this song that it was, "the only song, written by a Jew about Christianity that even an atheist can dig..." Never heard the 'Doctor and the Medics' version... (Is that a REAL band? What a terrible name for a band!) But one version that I really liked when I heard it recently was by 'Party Crash Vikings'. Check it out... I reckon you'd love it! Planning on posting another video within the next couple of days... I have some Travelling Wilburys and a Loudon Wainright III song lined up... IF the video's turned out okay. I recorded them a few days ago. I hope they'll be okay, 'cause I really want to post Loudon Wainright's 'Dead Skunk'! I've only just learned how to play it. I'll probably play the video through for the first time this arvo... and if it's okay I'll post it either this evening or tomorrow. Fingers crossed, huh?! 🤞

I remember the Kinks "Apeman" and the first song too. This was a nice time chilling to your music after work. Sorry I got back to your channel so late. @@Elle_M717 Hello again Elle! I'm so glad you enjoyed my little 'rock' session! I've loved all these songs since I was a kid! I can't say I blame you for spending so much time on Rumble. I must say I'm getting really quite fed up of being censored here on YT... I do have a Rumble account, but tbh I don't spend much time there simply because YT has so much more content... all the old movies and TV shows I love. Rumble seems very limited in comparison. But it's been a long while since I tried it, and maybe its content has grown, so I may well try it again soon. I may even think about posting videos there if the process is 'user friendly' enough! Elections these days seem to me to be totally farcical, not just in the USA and UK, but also right here in Oz. Where candidates should be the 'best of the best', the main qualification these days seems to be the stupidest of the stupidest, just so long as they can be easily bought and controlled by the you-know-whos... The result is, of course, only too predictable and that's why the world is going to hell in a handbasket! Sorry for the rant! What's your handle over on Rumble? @@theseustoo Hi. My handle is ElleBlue. Yes. These elections seem like more of a farce as time goes on. I feel this one is super important though. We've got a fearless leader vs a panderer. Right now they're not giving many funds to the hurricane victims (about $750 per household). This is unacceptable because new commers who didn't play buy the rules are getting $1500 a month in cash assistance plus food card and housing. More later.

@@theseustoo I just checked back and see the reply I wrote to you is gone now. Yes. I enjoyed many of these songs growing up as well. My parents and older siblings introduced a lot of good music to me. As things heat up, I'm seeing this election is more important than ever. I'm a praying person and have been praying for a positive election outcome. I'm also praying the rest of the world will have more peace too.

@@Elle_M717 Yes, its bizarre what YT will delete/censor these days, and god alone knows why! I"m an agnostic atheist myself, so I don't pray, but I hope your prayers bear some fruit, though if you're praying for either Trump or Harris, I don't think anything will really change. As long as you have a Zionist in the White House, nothing will change, least of all having more peace in the world. Hmm... maybe you're a tad younger than me if it was your elder siblings who got you into this kind of music, but it shows that both you and they have good taste, anyway! I've just learned how to play Loudon Wainright III's 'Dead Skunk', so I'll try to post that and a couple more songs in the next few days.
