A friend of ours is looking for a G-body to fix up and he had seen these two Olds Cutlasses online. We decided to go shoot a video of them for him, so he could see what he thinks. They are both 1978 Olds Cutlasses and both are powered by the 260 V8. The black one is a factory bucket seat/console shift car, which is a bit more rare. The gray car it in far better shape though. Anyway, we hope you find them interesting, we appreciate you taking a look!

I bought a 78 Cutlass for $1000 back in the 90s. That little 260ci was very quiet and smooth. It was a Triple black beauty. But, the best part of owning the car was how it rode. They drive really nice with no rode noise. You never heard wind whistling at the windows nor tires rolling on the ground. Cars don't ride like these did back then. Great job on the video brings back pleasant memories.

I like them a lot too. I'm more into the Grand Nationals and Monte Carlo's though. A Hurst Olds with the lightning rod shifters would be pretty sweet too. Thanks for watching, we appreciate it!

I had a 78 with a 260 also. It was light blue with blue cloth interior. Great car. I bought it for $750 in 1990 and drove it to Florida from NY. Then I had an 84 broughm top of the line cutlass. Shouldhave kept them both.

Nice cars. First car I remember riding in was my parent's '79 Cutlass Supreme, Metallic blue over silver with power blue interior. Buckets, center console, AM radio...

I bought a second owner 79 that he ordered with a 4 speed 305 package. It would walk sideways with each gear slammed, Man I miss the dance.Wish I still had it best Olds I owned even better than my 69 4 speed I have now.

Thanks Jeff. My Uncle bought a new '78 Cutlass Supreme in early summer of '78. It was hot that year. It had that under powered 260. He hated it. The A/C didn't work for a good while. The dealership had overfilled it.

No problem, doesn't sound like your Uncle liked his very much :) Hey, I did film that Riviera, and another one too. I'll probably post one tomorrow.

No, he didn't keep that car a full year I don't believe. Thanks for filming the Riviera. Looking forward to them.

The silver cutlass is very nice. Ready to drive, build or just look at it. Cleanest one I have seen is 20 years

my buddy had one of these all modded up back in the day, tweaked out 305 and some sort of crazy diff and hurst 4spd. damn, for a cheap car it sure was really quick. Those things must not weigh much.

Decent old G-bodies though I pefer the 81-87, the black one isn't near worth $7k, imo. P.S., the wooly worm on the tire has a long brown band, according to the old farmers that means it should be a fairly mild winter. :)

Nice to see two comparable cars on one video. The second one is the nicer car by all means. That 260 V8 would have to go... G Body cars look great don't they ?

I really do like the G-bodies, but yeah, I'd need a little more power under the hood.

i think first one is over priced yes it has the better brougham with console but it's in ruff shape but the one owner u could put same type would bring value even higher I'd like to see one with the 455 rocket put in it that would be cool

It`s 2,000 more but it would probably cost 5x`s that to make the other one just as clean....after you hunt down all the parts...

The 1978-'80 was the 'ugly nightmare' of the platform of the 1973-1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass, Buick Regal, Pontiac Grand Prix; and Chevrolet Monte Carlo. I am just SO GLAD that ALL four (Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile; Buick) models SIGNIFICANTLY improved the platform for the 1981-1987 versions, after that ugly 1978-'80.
