So the only real differences between melee and ranged attacks are that melee attacks have infinite piercing but low base range. That doesn't actually mean they can't have good range; it just means they don't *start* with good range. If you go for an all melee build and take anything that gives range upgrades, you become an unstoppable juggernaut.

From my experience playing the game ranged is still better. Even if you give melee high range (spear I think has more range then shotgun by default), it needs to go to that range, then back, then it will reload to attack again (I think), meanwhile with range you shoot and instantly reload begins. And even with ok reload, melee will be away from you half of the attack duration, so its hitbox is in a weird place. That, and shotgun with bounce and some flat damage is amazing.

That shotgun with the piercing and higher attack speed was far more ideal in that last run because of the one gun penalty. The spread and piercing made for a great weapon given that mode, just needed more ranged damage and attack speed and you could’ve lasted through that rocket round you died on. Piercing is where it’s at, now if you had 6 weapons with one of them being a rocket launcher and like 3 smgs and 2 shotguns in a different character mode, that would’ve been freaking awesome to see. Lol

I just played this after watching the video, good fun recommendation is the Savage with 6 Sticks 👌each stick does more damage based on how many sticks you have and he gets +25% life steal with Primitive weapons

If you return to the game, you can buy the same weapon that you already have and they combine. If you've got a shotgun II and buy a shotgun II, you'll get a shotgun III. Very important for the one handed potato

Tom, this is for any game with a shotgun; You always take more attack speed and damage. If those two arent an option then you get other buffs. But shotguns are more and more broken the faster they shoot. Also, fire damage. Flaming shotgun? Jeez.

Disappointed the demo goes to only 12 waves, but I guess that baits me into trying it once it comes out. Had a lot of fun making a 100% attack speed build. If you want to try this game, don't be a dummy like Tom. You can combine two of the same weapon to upgrade it, and upgrading gives substantially more damage.
