The question Ramee has to ask is how can they have ballistics on the weapon being hot but no ballistics from when Murphy was shot? That means either they performed a half hearted investigation after finding Murphy and couldn’t be bothered to check ballistics or they are pulling the fact that the gun is hot out of their ass. At a minimum this line raises doubts about the guns link to the original crime if no ballistics or it raises doubts about how thorough the investigation was if ballistics were available but no one ran them.

the people involved in this arc agreed OOC that the gun is hot just to make the arc spicy. The gun was "sent" to "forensic lab" out of town. And they will avoid discussing ballistics because it doesn't exist in the game yet.

@@DiligentX nope. They could not discuss or make an argument about it. If ballistics were in game the PD would not find the shells because JP never fired the gun at that spot. There were no witness or evidence that JP had the firearm while conscious, so a claim that someone planted it on him while unconscious and having no shells in the area may be enough to put doubt on the case. The case without ballistic was already shaky to begin with, it was quite surprising the judge ruled it that way, now they're seeing the issue by setting a precedent like that, sentencing a guy without being proven beyond reasonable doubt was dumb.

yea murphy said that as well. Thats the current dilemma. He made the rule that if you get found with a gun then you get charged with all crimes that gun has done. Came back around to bite him in the ass. Exactly what X wanted

If this case is won. Does that mean x can make another appeal due to the fact the cases are identical? and then use this court decision to show lack of evidence to be charged? or is it really just because hes a judge it makes him "more innocent".

Not defending the man cause x does deserve to get an appeal. But x shot him with the gun he planted on him so they should have done a “ballistics reports” and showed he was shot with it. And then had the gun placed on him

@@calfaro2010 I think they will add casing and stuff back but its taking time or something. They could also do a 'special report' like how they know the gun was part of a murder because OC the devs wanted the guns to still carry their serial numbers but it hasnt been implemented yet. The only issue is that casings were not a part of other trials or rp situations up to this point so giving another special report would go counter to the rp, especially because it has decided cases in the past, imo.

Yeah but they're stalling because that law states Possession of a gun is guilty. No matter who or how anyone gets got in the first place. This is the reason they are taking 30 days to start trial

Having an alibi for when the gun was initially stolen is still good evidence especially since he was found with it on him.

Possession is a crime he doesn't have gun licence and the gun he had on him was linked to murder. He can't argue that he was shot with same gun in his pocket because bullet casings mecanic didn't work .

use critical thinking. if he has an alibi for both times - meaning he didn't steal the gun nor use it during the time of murder (so didn't commit the act) and his bank records don't show any sign of transaction. If he has no reasonable association with the gun prior to incident, then The judge cannot (without a shadow of a doubt) charge him for those things. It's important because it makes it easier to believe the gun was then planted by someone else. THIS HELPS JP APPEAL HIS OWN CASE
