The thing I like most about 4.0 is it's about the long game, and only strong relationships based on trust can facilitate quick progress. JP f.king ppl left and right doesn't align with that, but it does set the ground for spicier content which may ultimately be his goal: eyeballs on the stream. With the downside of toxic chat hoppers that haven't touched grass in months and take it too seriously, instead of realizing JP and Marty will meet up for a beer IRL to laugh about their CSGO style frags and laugh about how crazy the strat worked to drive people insane and watch them play a game and make millions off of them.

Story time Context: So, X and Marty had a wild argument over betraying other gangs. X wanted Marty screw over Lang, which Marty objected to because he is trying a path where secures more solid connections (family and gang type of thing). The threats Marty was talking about to Ramee was X saying he will be the one to do what is necessary to progress. Not necessarily screw Marty over, but that is how it sounded initially to Marty (he did not believe it and still doesn’t for the record). As X stewed, he got a brilliant idea and did not convey it to Marty in his one-track mind, despite Marty asking for explanations. X intended to make a deal with OTT and the Company to get the last dongle they needed. Fast-forward, by now, Marty had checked his stash and saw the missing dongles. While he does not suspect X would screw him over, but he was unhappy X would go around making these decisions without consulting Marty. Marty pulls out his gun and so does X. (It’s not stated why Marty pulled the gun out, but I suspect he was hoping to get JP to hand them over or rob JP) Both fired on each other, with Marty coming out on top. Marty got petty and robbed JP of the dongles and delivered the Red Dongle to the Old Bois (Clean Bois in 4.0). Marty gave Tony Corleone the rundown and went off to go cool down, giving his blessing to Lang and the Crew to spite JP. By this point, the Old Bois got all the dongles, all earned by themselves (Marty contributed yellow prior to this madness, so it is not apart of the stolen goods. The rest were earned by the Old Bois legit) except for the red. The red is a duplicate from X and Marty’s stash. As of CG’s dongles that X took, it can be presumed that Marty had them still after the whole incident. X got angry though and started spinning tales about Marty going to give the dongles to Lang. Old Bois were getting caught up with everything and made the decision to use the dongles to progress because X has been lying and screwing them over from the beginning (by Lang’s own words). So, they take all their own dongles and the one red Marty got from X and progressed, gaining Yuno’s Unicorn and the next step in robberies for the HQ app. Lang and Yuno rightfully suspected X and CG would start camping spots and try calling them, not believing a word they said. So, they made the decision to be under the guise of still needing a red, not telling them that they had already made progress in fear of pissing them off more than they already were (foreshadowing). X and Mr. K call Yuno and Lang. Mr. K wanted to see about what happened with the dongles. Lang stated he was not responsible for who turns in the dongles and he would need to ask the others, naming Yuno. Yuno, on the other hand, stated they only needed red and also states that he would ask the others on his squad, Lang and Marty. There were others, but Yuno didn’t get that far because K pressed that Yuno was lying about the dongles and that Lang had said that Yuno was in charge of the dongles based off of a mere mention of Yuno’s name from Lang. The reality of the miscommunication is that Mr. K thinks the Old Bois is a heirarchy or something where the people serve under one person. But it’s actually more diplomatic because Lang does not want to deal with everyone’s drama. So, rather than leading, they all designated someone to set as treasurer (Gigi Giorno and Speedy) and the rest of the squad (including Lang) would deliver their money from whatever operations they were running to her. It was a legit everyone does their own thing. They update each other about what’s going on only if it might come into them being targeted. They set up two squads to do heists. Yuno, Octo, Gigi, Tony, and Lang all are in one. X, Marty, and whoever else is in their gang is the other. Based on the info I gave above, Yuno technically was not lying when he said they do work with Marty and Lang and would have to ask them as well as the others. Because everyone’s funds is going into all their operations, including heists. Now, Mr. K does not know any of that. Therefore, he thinks Yuno and Lang are lying when it’s just CB comms where they are not being specific enough about their operation. Whether it’s a good idea to spill the beans is beyond me, but in basic terms, X saying Marty is gonna give the dongles to the Bois on top of Yuno and Lang not being upfront about everything causes K to not believe anything and think Yuno is lying. Marty is still just not around for any of this. When X calls Yuno, he tries to get Yuno to give the dongles back. Yuno at the time had no idea what happened and finally got X’s side of the story. That Marty is being dumb and he stole CG’s usbs along with X’s extras. Yuno tries to use the they don’t have the dongles and they still need red cover story and X dismisses it, believing Yuno to be messing. Yuno then does this thing where he tells the partial truth to X because it’s so ridiculous that X wouldn’t believe it anyways. He speaks about Sparkles, the new Unicorn head on a stick thing that was handed to him when the Bois completed the dongle. X gets angry with Yuno, thinking Yuno is lying and he tries to bargain with Yuno. He plays ball by offering that he brings the red and they do the progress together without CG or anybody. Yuno said he would have to discuss with the Bois about it, mentioning Lang and Marty. X goes on accusing Yuno of having the dongles and pulling his leg. Yuno hangs up, seeing he is getting nowhere with X. Ramee’s part is basically the same as K’s. Ramee does not believe Yuno’s story. The context for his conclusion about Yuno and Lang selling the dongles is based on Marty mentioning X went to make a deal with someone without telling Marty who. Ramee presumes it is Yuno and Lang. If you remember, the deal was actually with the Company, so Ramee’s assumption was wrong, but now he fully believes Yuno is lying. At some point, K find out about the HQ app update and declare war on the Old Bois, despite Yuno’s confusion. And Ramee calls Yuno saying that Yuno was lying, not hearing Yuno’s confusion or bothering to allow Yuno a chance to get ahold of Marty and get their stuff back because Yuno presumes Marty still has everything. A lot more happened, but this is in essence how it all started and why everyone has their motivations.

i feel low key unintentionally he burned his bridges with lang after this the possibility of lang just telling marty hes out is pretty high cuz of all the drama he caused for the group today tomorrow lang will have to wake up to the sht show aftermath and the sad thing is lang and yuno didnt even use CG's dongles unless the red was CG's if marty wouldnt have put the usb in langs house they had a high chance of still completing the set cuz rhia was willing to give yuno the red they needed to complete the set and they still would have gotten the unlock without all the drama and then when things finally seem to cool down (after marty agreed to give CG back their usb ) he tells them even more stuff making things worse for lang and the boys wile hes just chillin he may have not meant to do it but whats done is done

X's sole focus is always to be the first to heist progression. Marty knows this well, yet he messes with X's plans every time X gets near success. He did it twice with the Company by changing their keys, and now he's gone as far as shooting and robbing X.

Marty did that as retaliation for the group siding with JP instead of him. He snitched on JP to the group, it didn't go the way Marty thought it would, and so he immediately removed all their access as some kind of moment to teach everyone a lesson about loyalty or something. Of course all he ends up doing when he goes into these tantrums about loyalty is he ends up rolling back the character progression of people around him.

Marty had no idea about the apps when he did the key shenanigan, he only learned about them, saw them after the meeting to resolve the key issues, when Yuno showed him (because hackers gotta stick together is what he said). All I,m saying is that changing the keys inadvertantly screwed the progression he didn't even know was going on. So I believe one time was bad timing for the sake of lore and RP, and the second time; Marty shooting X was screwing his progression.
