The thing here is... if Ramee did give Vinny a harsh punishment he would set such a HUGE precedence/expectation for the PD as a whole. I wish he would have spoken to Vinny offline about it all beforehand because this could have actually been extremely beneficial to the server overall. - If when other officers aren't punished the same way for being corrupt/making mistakes once Ramee had actually went through with it then Ramee could have used this moment to throw it in the face of the hypocrites in HC of the other departments.

It's obvious they are forcing Ramee to punish Vinny even though so many other officers are never punished. As of recently, Roy and Fingle got fired because of the Tuner Shop bombing. Hale got fired for allowing a hit out on Ash and Ace, all the while handing PD pistol for Jaylen to use. Mendoza is getting a two-week suspension and a demotion to Officer because she was accomplice to Hale and equally guilty (she got let off good because Troopers felt bad for her). Hardcastle got fired for handing racing dongle to Mary's lawyer. The precedence had already been set. Mineo is only getting a 5-day suspension, demotion to Senior Officer, and getting his certs taken with no longer access to a Charger. Out of everyone who has gotten into trouble this past couple of weeks, Mineo is getting the LEAST punishment because of OOC reasons.

That’s what should happen when police abuse their authority with no chance of being caught otherwise. Imagine an officer just starts changing other officer’s statements to make it seem like criminals committed crimes they didn’t commit. There would be hardly any recourse for the criminals. There’s no way to tell that they were edited in character so when there is no in character evidence due to mechanical restrictions HC can review OOC evidence when determining the punishment. It would be incredibly powerful if police could just always get away with their corruption because there’s no way to stop them in game. Too many police get away with corrupt actions as it is.

This was something they began allowing with high high command auth back in late 2.0 I think. Maybe it was early 3.0. I can’t remember which. Anyhow like the other person said, the vod is treated like a body cam. It can only be used in very specific authorized way. They don’t mess around with this. If you don’t get the proper auth, then yes, it is meta gaming and a vacation is incoming (or a harshly worded warning amirite). It is usually high high command that initiates this anyhow.
