Ramkrishna Mission Ashram, Fort Belagavi

The ashrama was started in 2000 in the house in which Swami Vivekananda had stayed for a few days in 1892.
Activities:
1. A vocational training centre.
2. Youths’ and teachers’ conventions, lectures and annual competitions in essay writing, recitation, elocution, etc for students.
3. Balak Sangha, Balika Sangha and Yuvak Sangha for spreading moral, cultural and spiritual values among children and youths.
4. Weekly eye camps: Patients were operated on for cataract free of charges. Most of the operations were performed in the ashrama’s eye clinic, Sarada Netralaya.
5. Welfare work by way of providing scholarships and pecuniary help to poor and meritorious students, and distribution of blankets, food and clothing to the needy.
6. Religious activities: Daily worship, morning and evening bhajans, Ramanam Sankirtan, spiritual retreats, discourses, meditation classes and celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda.
