What an amazing masterpiece! If you have an hour, you'll see how DEEP and meaningful the lyrics are. It also takes pieces of their other greatest hits.

In modern-day Germany, there is a mindset that is relatively widespread and has the following content: "We are proud that we are not proud." Not everyone necessarily shares that attitude, but I think it's okay. If you were no longer proud of your country or your nation anywhere in the world, the world would probably look much better and have at least less warlike confrontation. Personally, I do not need something like national attachment. What do I have in common with the idiots from my neighborhood? What do I have in common with the "colleagues" at work who denounce you to the boss for a small benefit? Isn't it a very primitive tendency to feel somehow connected as a German with Einstein, Beethoven, etc. or, for example, as an Englishman with Newton and Darwin, etc.? What do all these Germans have to do with Einstein, what do all these Englishmen have to do with Newton? Isn't it true that Einstein and Newton could only be what they were because they were both born in societies based on Nietzsche's principle: every higher culture is based on cruelty. So, just because you had masses of slaves (they're called "workers" today) doing the dirty work, it was possible that people like Einstein and Newton could go to high schools. Aristotle and Plato were aware of this connection and therefore they were for slavery. At least they were honest and not full of lies like our society today.

Well maybe you are right but all nations and countries have their national heritages which connects them to the past. Moreover many people (of course there are exceptions) are proud of their famous scientist and dream to be them.And there wouldn't be any nations if people who live in one territory had no common consciousness.
@purplehaze12745 жыл бұрын
Good luck trying to convince the rest of the world to embrace that mentality, they never will. Only the Western world will embrace such a false and culturally destructive form of "progress".
@tillhaber80965 жыл бұрын
@Parsimonious : There is a big misunderstanding here: I have never said that you can not love the country where you were born. Every country has its beautiful sides. And if you're used to the environment where you were born and raised, it's understandable that you also love the area. There is nothing wrong with that, there is nothing negative about it either. But loving those we are is human, but also narcissistic. "That's human" does not mean it's good. "Human" is being selfish, killing others, etc. Only someone who is completely naive believes that this is not absolutely "human." Again, we have nothing in common with those assholes who live in our neighborhood or denounce us to the boss. Schopenhauer was one of the most intelligent people of all time. From him comes the sentence that the great mass are anyway only factory products of nature. Well, all those SS men who first polish their boots before kicking off a stone that has a human being hanging on it, being choked by the rope, all those people who are so devoid of human qualities , are really nothing more than a kind of zombies. And is it really so nice to feel a national feeling with zombies? I know, I know, I know, I know: Now some come again and say, not every nation had SS men. But that's not the point: I'm talking about all the shit that lives in the neighborhood or at work or those who ruthlessly enrich themselves and go over dead bodies. In short: I am talking about the absolute majority of every population !!!
@tillhaber80965 жыл бұрын
@@purplehaze1274 : The point at which you are right is that: Only Western society could develop such thoughts. That's clear: the others are too primitive, if we're honest. It is not about convincing the "world" but about that the individual man should better "forget" from such ideas like "nation" because they have no content. And I'm talking about "men", I'm not talking about zombies. Zombies are doing something else: Zombies are ruining the Western world. Zombies like Mrs. Merkel are doing this. They bring crowds of people in here who kick us later and sometimes even already now in the ass. Did not anyone in the world notice the events on New Year's Eve 2015/16 in Germany? Masses of German women were raped by Muslims in Cologne, Hamburg etc., many German men who were alone were robbed and beaten by 6 or 8 muslims each time. The fact that this is not taking place at the moment is only because the Muslims in Germany have seen that the society has responded indignantly to it, so the Muslims are now disguising themselves. But this will change when they are more and more. All over the world, where Christians are the minority and Muslims the majority, it is the same: the Christians are oppressed. And the word "oppressed" is a great trivialization. Again and again there are pogroms who end up deadly for Christians. Frau Merkel and other zombies are re-elected and bringing more Muslims to the country. The whole thing does not look much different in England, France, etc. Only the zombies there are called Macron etc. With such zombies (Merkel, Macron and their voters), intelligent people should not feel like "nation". In Germany, people like Thilo Sarazzin warn the population that Germany is destroying itself. He wrote a book: "Germany abolishes itself". This book is about destroying our society and handing it over to the Muslims. The book is hatefully attacked by zombies like the liberals, socialists, etc. In England, the same thing happens with the book "The Strange Death Of Europe" by Douglas Murray. The German translation of the book is called: "The suicide of Europe" Personally, I have no need to feel as a "nation" with zombies.

I think the point is that Germany is such a great nation with such potential, but has also the dark side and an incredible potential for self destruction. They also try to say that with that dark side they still love it. Mein Herz in Flammen, will dich lieben und verdammen is such a great line I think it explains a lot what I try to say.

I still don’t understand why the main character in the video was black. It adds an unusual element to the video but it makes zero sense. If they really wanted to push boundaries they would have used a white, blonde boy as this would touch upon Hitler Jugend and the stereotypical Germanic look.

@@nickystyles868 : Yes, of course: The flag of Germany is in the colors black-red-gold. But the black actress represents these colors outstanding: she is black, wears red lipstick and a golden uniform or shows herself sexy in a kind of gold "chain dress". But the most important thing is the following: It represents Germania. Germania we know in pictures as very white-skinned (= innocent), blonde beauty. Sometimes she does not only look naïve on the illustrations, but really stupid. Now everything is completely different and it is the most brilliant idea of the video at all: a black = dark woman as Germania. The history of Germany is dark and has nothing innocent. I myself have studied history and can not praise this idea with the black actress enough. In the beginning, after she has cut off the Roman's head and the other Romans come running to her in rage, she looks at them as if she wanted to ask what she has done wrong. She is like a Greek goddess: beautiful, but cruel and cold, as if that were the most natural thing in the world. Wonderfully portrayed by the Berlin actress Ruby Commey as Germania. In the following scenes we see Germania confidently in golden armor victorious on the field survive everything, while around her the body of the enemy is full of swords. She survives the time, even cries and gives birth to German Shepherds in a kind of modern stable of Bethlehem. At the end she is dead in the coffin, but lives on as an angel.

Does not Deutschland mean mother land? I think the song is not about Germany but about nationalism. It's not about Germany but it's about how atrocities are committed in the name of Nationalism.

Deutchland means "Germany", etymology wise it means "land of the people". The song is mainly about the struggle for germans to find pride in their nation due to the recent atrocities committed in recent years, and a struggle with the german identity as a whole
