Hallomann is told from the perspective of a child abductor. I once read that the passage "mussels with fries" is an allusion to the belgian Marc Dutreux (mussels with fries are a popular dish in Belgium), he kidnapped, raped and killed many kids in the 90s. Because this man is a stranger and greets the child with a "hallo" (hello in English), for the child it is simply the Hallomann, so the hello-man. Nice song with sad meaning, but i love the song. Greets from germany 😊

For me, "Hallomann" is one of, if not the most, underrated Rammstein song... It is well known that Rammstein writes songs about topics that almost no one dares to do... But the real art is not only that somehow just writing a song about these topics, but actually bringing the listener into the action, if you will. Because Till doesn't just sing about "Hallomann" and his actions, he slips in from the "I perspective", i.e. from the perspective of these dark, sick characters... This puts the listener in an uncomfortable place for him , uncomfortable, difficult to digest situation, so to speak, you feel emotionally completely different than if you were simply told a "story" about some event... The musical implementation, the instrumental, this screaming guitar, the one for the little girl and for what she is currently suffering at that moment! To be able to do all of this in such a poetic way that the listener is emotionally shaken after about 4 minutes (because the songs don't last much longer) is simply art! Even if you're not a fan of this music...

It took me many, MANY tries before I could get through the entire song without getting really creeped out 😫 Now, though it’s extremely dark and sinister, it’s one of my favorites 🖤❤🖤

Hallomann more than hints at the activities and crimes of the Belgian serial killer rapist and child molester, Marc Dutroux. The dish of mussels with fries is a popular one in Belgium as well. Lyrically haunting, the music tells the story in its own way as well especially with the distorted guitar sound and Flake's keyboard signifying the final act. Many victims of people like Dutroux have their testing place in water as well. Till playing the protagonist, a part that he plays uncomfortably well. As he has said though, the world is broken, he just writes about it. A fascinating favourite of mine even though it makes me feel so very uncomfortable.

Thanks for the video. The last scream of the guitar always feels like the child in the story is screaming. It gives me chills every time. You are really plowing through their songs now! My request: -Frühling in Paris -Meine Tränen And the ultimate: Buck Dich live

This song is the perfect example of how to paint a picture with music. Till finds numerous ways to describe what the main character of the song is doing and what his intentions are, without actually stating it outright. Furthermore, he manages to write a song about the most evil of crimes, without saying a single dirty word. Meanwhile you know exactly what is going on just through the instrumentalisation. To me, it's a masterpiece.

In addition to their amazing talent "Rammstein" has understood everything about the human condition. They are immense artists.

This song is so straightforward. It's about the worst thing an adult can do to a child. I have so much respect for Rammstein that they never, ever shy away from taboo topics. And then from the most unpleasant perspective: the perpetrator. The music is incredibly good and gives the topic a haunting note. Because it comes across as very light at times. I like the whole album. So well written. So fans think, it's about the Belgium child molester Detroux. (Not sure, if I spelled the name correct.) Which is a possibility. Not sure though.

Rick…Thank You very very much ❤ Pretty haunting melody and Tills voice , isnt it? I dont know why I like it so much…its really dark topic, maybe im weird🤷♀️ “Muschel mit pomfrits” is belgian favourite dish, so its probabaly reference to belgian phedofile Marc Dutrux…

That's what someone who commented said it was about. As far as you liking it and the timing seems to make sense to me. The darker subject matter signifies things could be worse thus making 2 negatives a positive. Maybe, I don't know. 😁

It's not the "HOLLOW-man", it's the "HALLO"-man. "HALLO" is the German translation of "HELLO", but that doesn't make this song more comfortable to listen to. It seems to be one of the goals of RAMMSTEIN to make you always feel a little uncomfortable while listening.
@Dani-x012 ай бұрын
Yes it is what do you think is about pretty much disturbing and sick lirics also the instrumentation that switch it up almost at the end is cool but is getting even more sinister vibe.despite all of it musically wise is great overall I mean it is what it is with Rammstein they make you feel uncomfortable on purpose like watching some weird and shock movie but just listen to.
