That knife gets me every time! I prefer digipacks (I think that’s the term) like this over traditional cD packaging. Not a big fan of live CDs, but this looks nice.

Best knife (: Yes, it's called digipack. There was a time when I would have definitely preferred digipacks because, like you, I felt it was more classy or high quality. In the meantime, though, I'm definitely Team Jewel Case, for one simple reason - longevity. I own several thousand CDs and unfortunately it happens from time to time that a digipack is delivered damaged or takes damage over time. The problem is that digipacks cannot be repaired or replaced. With a jewel case I always have the possibility to correct it. For example, if the cover has a deep scratch or a piece of plastic is broken off. I have many empty Jewel Cases and also Super Jewel Cases and I can simply move damaged albums into a new Jewel Case, the only thing you need is the CD, the cover / booklet and the inlay. I also always make sure that the exact style of the jewel case is maintained, so from the finish to the holder to which the CD is attached.
