Till is such an extraordinary human being. His mom wrote a letter about him and it is so touching. At the end she says: "Just like nature. He walks along the lake under the open sky and knows the animals that live here. He reads a lot and then explains amazing things to us. He knows most countries of the world and they know him. When I was in Moscow, many young people wanted to shake my hand because I was, after all, the “Rammstein mother”, and a man of my age explained to me enthusiastically the uniqueness of this band. In the videos of their performances all over the world, you can see how devoutly and fervently the audience sings along with the lyrics in German. In Mexico City, it’s no different than in Tokyo, Rio, Manchester or in Budapest. He experiences all of that. But that is nothing compared to a Mecklenburg sunrise over the moor, he says, when you see the deer coming out of the bushes and you can hear the different animal sounds in this great silence. This incomparable sky, the clouds and lumps of mud on his shoes, this landscape grounds him and also makes him humble. I - like so many others - like to be with him. The fact that he’s famous plays no role. Only sometimes does his fame strike me with quiet astonishment: what a man. It's a hydrotherapy bath used in hospitals to treat burns. As you can tell, it looks quite old because this was filmed in an abandoned hospital. Because of what the songs about, I can understand the correlation. I'm guessing it's meant to symbolize the fact that he wants to finally relieve himself of all the "burns", and that's why he "goes out" once he goes in.

Did you notice it? At the very end as the lights are fading the white smoke? I believe the white smoke/mist you see in the very end as the lights slowly go off was his spirit/Soul. I think that he was finally able to ascend...after making sure all the children were safe and at the same time atoning for his past sins he was finally set free. The original was released in 2001 then the piano version in 2012 so it follows the story from Till in the orphanage to protecting the kids and the emotions he shows is mainly anger followed by sadness then in the piano version his emotions are kinda bitter sweet? He realizes he had to do things he didn't want to do to save the children. So now that he's done, he is finally set free. thats of course my own interpretation of the video/song❤️‍🔥🤗

Der Dreh (und Angelpunkt) ist aber der Drehort. Es war einmal ein Resort für Lungenkranke wurde aber im weiteren Verlauf zu einer Nervenanstalt, bei der Menschen auf übelste zu Forschungszwecken misshandelt wurden und als Versuchskaninchen missbraucht wurden , und mit den fragwürdigsten Methoden behandelt wurden . Greetings from Germany! Till represents the well known german "Sandmännchen", since he uses a phrase, used for this short clips in the german TV, made for kids and was hosted at 6 pm as a daily ritual, aka a reason to put them to sleep. It started with the cute Sandman, throwing sand into the eyes of the children and contained a nice short story. But what Rammstein is doing here, is to show an "evil" Sandman, bringing nightmares...talking about his power over their dreams, which is provided by their tears. But there is a catch for this puppetmaster of monsters - as soon as the sun goes up again, he needs to leave and that´s why he is so evil and sad, in the first place. Till is such an great actor, he could play the Joker, easily - imho^^

The other version of the video for "Mein Herz brennt" has the same lyrics but a completely different sound and mood. Even so soundwise it seems to end where this piano version begins. I think it is worth to watch the other version too.

The phrase "Mein Herz brennt" is a methaphor for 2 different conditions depending on the context, 1. for expressing "being extremly passionate for something or someone" 2. for feeling extremly bad mood/mental pain In that song it isn´t clear which of those 2 methaphoric meanings is meant because both meanings fit into the context of the lyrics...and Till is also expressing both with his performance/body language.

The location for this video was the Belitz sanatorium near Berlin (built 1905-1907). This was a neurological clinic for tuberculosis patients in Eastern Germany, which was later used by the Russians as a military base. Today the large site and its buildings are empty and are often used as a filming location for TV and music productions! There were many sanitary facilities in the buildings, including clinical bathrooms that were used by patients. This explains the depression in the ground that can be seen in the video. I would suggest watching "Mein Teil" (Live at Hurricane 2013). One of the greatest live performances by Rammstein. Also the official music video of "Mein Herz brennt" is awesome as well!

Welcome down the Rammstein rabbit hole. Their art and lyrics are sometimes hard to understand for non-germans and sometimes even for germans cause you have to think twice to get the meaning sometimes. As a whole I think their art really is unmatched by anyone else. Hundreds of great songs and shows and videos. Please also react to the newer ones like "Zeit" - official Video.
