I love this, so great to see Jimmy Lennon and interest from outside Thailand in Muay Thai from back then. Really fun seeing Dekkers fight in Thailand. Teerapong is quite small relatively, watch his other fights, he used to fight 118 and even 126 lbs. The commentators are a lot better than some non-thai commentators I've seen but they're still misunderstanding some things. Also to win at the stadium on points, you got to understand how points are scored. Those foreigners coming and losing on points are losing cause they're not scoring more points using effective Muay Thai techniques. Making such a claim is insinuating that the Thai judges are being biased against the foreigners when they have been regularly shown to be anything but. Just see Dekkers' popularity in Thailand. Smh at commentators trying to make Teerapong's slip look like an 8count knockdown... Teerapong completely shut down Dekkers in this fight. Pretty easy decision. Kind of laughed at how the commentators made it out that the crowd anxiously awaited the decision when everyone there basically knew who won.

With lots of great respect it takes balls to get in to a fighting ring, with some comments I have seen about Ramon dekkers,I find it sad that what I have read about him and the fights he had, for a start he did Dutch kickboxing and taken it to the Thais and of course some where smaller or lighter or tougher,he beat some of the Thais in rematches and had fought the best, and lost where it was hard to win as a foreigner, but never the less, he helped promote Maury Thai and Thai culture in the west and what came after him became better for the Thai sport with western boxers going to the birth place of many Thai, as. For the negative commenters if you fight sometimes you lose, but if you never fight you will always lose.

@Dsmv Dekkers at 149 lbs got schooled by a bloated 126 lbs guy at 147 lbs who only needed 5 months to went up 21 pounds . Dekkers is a joke and that's not even unique against Dekkers . Superlek , Orono , Namphon , Jaroenthong , etc... All of them went up more than 10 pounds and all of them managed to beat Dekkers . For example : Superlek Sorn Esarn was a natural 118-122 pounds Nak Muay ( Junior Featherweight ) but against Dekkers in 1990 they made Superlek go all the way up to 135 pounds while Ramon Dekkers weighed at 138 pounds which was at the time his natural/best weigh ( Junior Welterweight ). Meaning Superlek went up 3 whole weighclass : Featherweight ( 122-126 lbs ) , Junior Lightweight ( 126-130 lbs ) and Lightweight ( 130-135 lbs ) in order to fight Dekkers at Junior Welterweight ( 135-140 lbs ) that's why Superlek weighted at 135 lbs and Dekkers at 138 lbs ( within the Junior Welterweight limit ) in 1990 . Dekkers at 138 pounds at the time was at his natural/best weight and yet he lost to Superlek who went up or was bloated up 13 lbs to 17 lbs past his natural best weighclass of 118-122 pounds ( Junior Featherweight ) and still Dekkers weighed 3 pounds more than him for their fight in 1990 : 138 lbs Dekkers against 135 lbs Superlek despite Superlek not having any business fighting at 135 lbs ( he was a top tier Nak Muay at 118-122 pounds not at 135-140 pounds ) and yet he beat up Dekkers for 80% of this fight and in round 2/3/4/5 it wasn't even close. Dekkers have those weights advantages against nearly all of his Thai opponents. And the funniest thing is that Dekkers still lost to 75% of his Thai opponents ( 11-29-1-1 that's Dekkers true record against Thai fighters ). Superlek was naturally 5,8 to 7,7 KG ( 13 to 17 lbs ) smaller than Dekkers and yet Superlek beat him up despite Dekkers being 1,3 KG ( 3 lbs ) bigger than him at the weigh-in ( 138 lbs vs 135 lbs ). Imagine you terribly losing to a natural 118-122 pounders who bloated all the way up to 135 pounds while you're a natural 138 pounders and then have Westerners saying you are the greatest ? LMAO ! Ramon Dekkers at 138 pounds was naturally 16 pounds to 20 pounds bigger than the 118-122 pounders Superlek Sorn Esarn who bloated up 3 whole weighclass to get to 135 pounds and yet it is the naturally 138 pounders Dekkers who badly lost their fight managing only to win round 1 while clearly/easily losing the other 4 rounds. Namphon was 126 lbs Lumpini Champion at the time but both of his fights against Dekkers were at 140 lbs meaning Namphon went 14 lbs up above his best weight in order to fight Dekkers at his best weight which was 140 lbs at the time and still Namphon should of won both fight but got robbed in their first fight . Orono who was at the time a Junior-Lightweight 126-130 lbs fought Dekkers at 65 KG / 143 lbs in 1992 and completely destroyed Dekkers . Orono the 126-130 pounder went 13 lbs up or even 17 lbs up in weigh in order to fight Dekkers at 143 lbs / 65 KG and still Orono easily destroyed Dekkers .

Ramon Dekkers lost to Den Muangsurin 4 times, Sangtiennoi Sor Rungroj 3 times, Superlek Sorn E-Sarn 2 times, Darris Sor Thanikul 2 times, Jomhod Kiatadisak 2 times, Coban Lookchaomaesaitong 2 times, Channoy Porntawee 2 times, Namphon Nongkeepahuyuth 2 times, Orono Por Muang-Ubon 2 times, Issara Sakrerin, Namkabuan Nongkeepahuyuth, Boonchai Sor Tawanun, Sakmongkhol Sitchuchok, Cherry Sor Wanich, Saimai Chor Suananant, Teerapong Sitkorayuth, Jaroenthong Kiatbanchong, Sombat Sor Thanikul and Rittichai Lookchaomaesaitong. With the exception of Jomhod, Issara and Saimai all the other Thai fighters were WAY smaller than Dekkers. Dekkers the joke his heart imploded because of steroids. Dekkers was absolutely g@rb@ge.
